I updated the instruction section in the OP with a simple fix if you flash and don't appear to have root . It's there .

I was just going to complain about not having root lol.

EDIT: Fix didn't work for me. SuperSU still hangs. Rebooting & trying again. Will update in a few minutes.
EDIT 2: Yea the suggestion didn't work at all for me. I can't even get SuperSU to run from the Settings menu.

Where are you seeing SuperSu in the settings menu at ? Su is different now , not the regular SU your used to seeing . Done through privacy guard . If your seeing SU in the menu or an SU icon in your apps it sounds like you flashed over an old one or added one . If you mean hanging on updating binary then you have an old su you haven't wiped . If thats the case it's hanging because you have two SU's on your phone conflicting . The letters SuperSU isn't even in my menu's . Works perfect for me . Here's a pic of what I see . Holler back if you need help or have questions .

I figured they were but for some odd reason Commotio responds better than Exodus on my phone.....weird. I'm on Commotio right now.

Kinda wish the V4A team would work on officially supporting Lollipop, but from what I can tell, they haven't updated it in forever. That makes me sad faced. I have yet to try AudioFX since I've loved V4A so much, but I'll give it a run today & see how I feel about it. Once I'm done with classes I'll try out those V4A fixes.

That probably was the case because I also tried to install SU via Philz Recovery hoping that would work.

Can anyone suggest a more stable alternative to Poweramp? For some odd reason, no matter what ROM I'm on, I'll either get audio pauses (which are REALLY annoying), or audio skips that result in buzzes (equally annoying), and frankly I'm tired of it.

Yeah it's probably because you downloaded it and flashed and the updater looks in a folder called exodusupdater I think . If you move the zip you downloaded to that folder it will likely view it a different way . Next time try using the exodus updater in about phone and let it run the update for you and see if you like that method . Move the zips you've downloaded from the download folder to the exodusupdater folder right below downloads . The updater most likely compares whats available from Exodus to whats in that folder and see's what it thinks are updates you haven't gotten yet .

I installed the 2/1 nightly, and I have to say that I'm hating the Privacy Guard root method. Either root doesn't stick or every app that asks for it in the notifications settings causes my phone to freeze.

EDIT: For some reason Photos fails and I can't save pictures on this nightly. *sigh*

Not sure why that's happening to you . Mine sticks through every build and doesn't freeze on new request . I think a couple of things went wrong in the 2-1 build like navbar but have been fixed for the next nightly .

After rebooting the phone numerous times, it sticks. For me I have to turn it on, turn on Dev options, disable root, re-enable it, reboot, give apps access, reboot, repeat 'til phone is settled.

One thing I do want to point out, though, is android.media FC's every time I try to access photos in Photos. I have to use a 3rd party Gallery app. Other than that (and V4A STILL not working -__- really wish the devs would work on an L version), it's good so far. AudioFX FC'd on me when I changed audio priority in PowerAmp to highest.
