so no way to make or receive calls? ?
Not saying that, I just don't know how. It doesn't have cellular or a phone number. There is an LTE model for data, but it doesn't have phone stuff in it. You can use Hangouts for video calls to other ppl on Hangouts. I mean, it's not a phone so you have to look for some creative solutions. Some people use Google voice (in countries other than u.s. that don't use alot of sms), but I'm not sure how they accomplish it.

Aye this is a tablet not a phone. The LTE model has mobile data, but doesn't make phone calls. In theory it could, but you would need to mess with configs and build it yourself

Just a week with this ROM on my N9 and it's been great so far but the first time battery hit 15% it automatically shut down, is that a feature or a bug? I couldn't find any reference to it by searching. I'm also using Elemental X kernel.

This is just the "nexus" the xperience imo. Same thing with my 6p,5

I'm on the 1020 slim 7( 1.15) and Hangouts keeps on force closing when I start typing. Is everyone seeing this and is there a work around?

Didn't happen on stock ROMs though, so are you saying it's a Slim/Nexus thing?
This doesn't happen to my flounder at all (admittedly older build). @didnt1able you on elementalX as well?

Unfortunately I can't open it. Says it's corrupted, not sure if it's your fault or just my crap net dropping packets.

Not sure what to tell you. If I extract it, it extracts as a txt file. I did my part of supplying log...any other idea?
I guess I'm stuck with Hangouts force closing.?

Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk

It is a compressed zip type file because the txt file was too large.

In general I've been loving this ROM, save for the occasional lock up. Have been on STABLE 7.1.2 Build 1.0 for a couple of months, just reflashed the latest weekly 7.1.2.build.1.15. A couple of questions:

(1) Does anyone else have the problem that the tablet won't bluetooth pair anymore with the official Nexus 9 folio keyboard? Sees it via NFC tag, initiates pairing, but never connects. I know the keyboard works because I can pair it to my HTC10 phone and use it fine.
(2) Any way to stop the tablet from trying to download and install the automatic Google system updates? I get the persistent "Couldn't Install System Update" warning in the notification tray, click through says "Verification Problem".

Any insights appreciated.

Guys,

Having a problem flashing this ROM. I come from 7.1.1 stock version. I flashed latest TWRP and after that magisk (according to a guide on XDA, not sure why). After that I factory reset, Cleared cache, dalvik, data, system etc. Flashed Slim and Gapps nano. But it wouldn't boot. Strange thing is, Slim rom is 7.1.2, but google never made 7.1.2 for the nexus, so I am afraid the vendor i use (tried: (N9F27M, Oct 2017), (N9F27L, Sep 2017)) is for 7.1.1 and not 7.1.2.

Am I missing something? Is it the wrong vendor and where can i download the correct one, I use factory images from google.

Hope someone can help me with this.

BTW i got the 32 gb WIFI version.

Got it to boot! Flashed the rom without the Gapps nano (arm64), strange... but am a step further now. Going to check the stock version from gapps.

This is the right way to flash?
Wipe data/dalvik/cache
flash ROM
Flash gapps
Reboot

-------

Found the issue! The problem is OpenGapps. Doesn't matter what version i use (full / mini / nano) after flashing OpenGapps, SlimRom doesn't boot. I pushed BeansGapps mini to the Nexus. Factory reset the device, Wiped everything exept internal storage (did that before all this), flashed SLim Rom and without reboot Flashed BeansGapps. After that I rebooted without any wipe. Took a little while to boot (I guess 5 to 10 minutes) and I saw the Google Setup.

Hope I could help someone with this "sort-of" guide.

Also, I read somewhere you would get a update notification, my guess is that you could turn that off in developer settings, but have to experience and try that.

hi, thanks for your feedback, and got the same notification on boot: this room required vendor N9F27L, and i've the most recent N9F27M ( Oct 2017) installed.
I hope they fix this in the next build~

did you flash after that supersu (base, or beta?), magik?

Uh this is odd as I've always used opengapps o_O. Time to dl latest and clean wipe to see.

Or you can flash down to N9F27L until we do. Those new blobs need kernel changes that I haven't merged.

Maybe problem with the latest opengapps. Beangapps are also nice and clean. I flashed magisk after flashing, booting and installing apps. Rooted just fine, running with ElementalX kernel, fast as hell. Never experienced that with the Nexus 9. But will see over time if it stays fast.
