CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Important information:
  • The following is NOT SUPPORTED: custom kernels, xposed, mods, supersu. Do not report bugs if you use any of those.
  • To report a bug, explain how to reproduce it and ATTACH LOGS (logcat and dmesg). Without logs, bug reports will be ignored.
  • Kitkat modem/bootloader is required, you can find it on post 2.

Install instructions:
  • Reboot into recovery (latest TWRP required).
  • Wipe data, system and cache if it's a fresh install.
  • No wipes required if you're updating from a previous build of CM 14.x (wipe cache and dalvik cache recommended).
  • Flash ROM and Gapps. Reboot.

Clean flashed.. Everything works well.. Able to use 3rd party file managers completely.. Thanks OP..

Just one issue of app icons in app drawer.. Seems slightly misplaced.. Hope this gets solved in upcoming updates..✌

Another bug I noticed is that all the cores are always online. I can turn them off manually from kernel auditor but then they remain off forever and do not turn on when needed. Using stock kernel with stock settings. Same is the case with on demand governor. Can anybody confirm it?
Pls look into the issue @fefifofum

    Surprise...

Sudden change of events... Do you know what this means? https://github.com/CyanogenMod?q=armani
That we'll soon have official CM support! The repos aren't uploaded yet, and nightly builds of cm-14.1 have been having problems lately, so be patient, but this rom will soon be official and have nightly builds.

    Important info

Tomorrow we'll have the first cm-14.1 nightly (if everything goes well): https://github.com/CyanogenMod/hudson/commit/c31839d20529208948f02d0a9b43d167037fe7a5

We also have a new TWRP update (version 3.0.2-1) to support cm-14.1 ota updates. Everybody should update to the new version.

    New build released

Now that everything is ready, nightlies stopped for maintainance. So I made a new build as it's been quite long since the last. I tried to fix encryption (but I couldn't test it), updated the kernel and added a missing drm blob. I am using now official CyanogenMod repos, not the ones in armani-dev, with a couple of cherry-picks from gerrit. Hopefully this will be my last build and official nightlies will resume soon. Also, official builds will be a "continuation" of my builds, so wipes will not be required.

EDIT: firmware updated to version 8.1.2.0, you can now find it on post 2.
