I see in kernel auditer where you can increase headphone gain under sound settings which doesn't do anything for speakerphone. I just came from omnirom and the sound for speakerphone was significantly louder than what it is now. It's basically useless if you have any level of ambient noise around you. Even Volume booster which worked fine on omnirom to increase both headset and speakerphone volume doesn't appear to do anything to it. Guess I'll be trying paranoid android. *sigh*

I didn't realize that the volume increase option within Kernel Auditor was was only for headphones. Its been awhile since I have used any of the deeper options.

I am not sure why you are having a volume issue with AICP 12.1 for me it was fine. Perhaps there a way to increase volume with build prop? Paranoid is a great Rom. The only thing I don't like is it can be a little too loud and its bass frequencies are cut too far in.

Maybe try installing Arise: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709 I use it it has practically every sound plugin combined into one Aroma option.

By the way Viper4 will definite increase the volume, and you can set up profiles for the speaker, BT, and USB audio individually If music audio is too compressed just turn the option compression off, and use EQ rolloffs at 100 mhz and 10000 khz.

Thanks for the great suggestions. I'll certainly look into them in future. Yeah Paranoid is the opposite problem..it's very loud..but can always lower the volume. No idea if volte is working though as it doesn't have the nice volte icon aicp had. Regular volume was fine...it was specifically speakerphone while on calls.

One annoying thing was I was trying to get the bitwarden app to work..it closed as soon as you open it on both omni and paranoid but worked fine on AICP provided it was a clean install and clean download..restore it from titaniumbackup and it would act same way. Oh well....will stick with Lastpass. Thanks again!

What to do when the developer starts another job (AICP Oreo) and forgets to finish what started and let work (AICP 12) with unresolved issues

Finish it for him maybe and realize that he has limited time, and realize that he never said that he was done with nougat

Limited time, yeah... Users should realize that EVERYONE on the team does this in their sparetime, freetime, at the weekend, at night & JUST FOR FUN.
This is no job or anything like this and there is no guarantee that he will support a ROM version (that the team just stopped ON ALL DEVICES) and the device until the end of time.

I wonder what the users are doing then, because we sometimes want to do others things too? - Like being with our families & friends? Work to earn some money for a living?
Or just "work" on something else to ensure that the device will be updated in the future?....

/**end of team leads rant**/

The sounds in the non-official version of Paranoid Android are very good. I have not tested this good sound for a long time.

Can you get a recent update from Aicp nougat?
For the sounds. @mosimchah

Hi, can someone tell me what camera mod works best? I tried installing a couple of them mentioned in this thread earlier. I'm earlier getting an error of not being install an upgrade over the same name app or it force closes when I open the camera.

Do not update to the latest version that the developer is forcing us Oreo who still has many problems.

The developer is not forcing you to use anything. And Oreo is super stable and functional by now. If you're taking about the OTA which tries to update from nougat to Oreo, yes, don't update that, because as the Dev says, update from nougat to Oreo is not supported. Clean flash required.

I cannot explain for me why most of AICP 12.1-downloads have suddenly disappeared.
Especially for zl1 (LeEco Le Pro 3) I would like to downgrade to last 12.1.

My main reason: Android Auto does not work on Oreo. It starts OK, but after setting up all things and authorizations, it terminates. Every following start terminates, regardless of active USB-debugging or not. Regardless of clearing the data of the app, or uninstalling and reinstalling it.

So please put the downloads to 12.1 back online, I think I'm not the only one who want to downgrade at this time. Thanks in advance!

The server doesn't store old files, that's why the old builds are gone, I can upload the latest build to my Android file host though, as for Android pay, get a logcat

    AICP
    Android Ice Cold Project

AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!

Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now actually LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.

If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or LAOS team, if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>

    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.

It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.

    How to flash:

(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)

Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device
    Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended)
Wipe system, Cache, data and ART/Dalvik cache
    Flash ROM Zipfile
Flash/Install GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
Flash/Install the root solution of choice (optional), I personnaly recommend magisk
    Reboot to system

The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)!

    Supported root solutions:

    Magisk v13.x

SuperSU - stable and beta available (Site by CCMT that took over the the marketing from chainfire)
SuperSU - direct download link for the latest SuperSU directly from the dev (chainfire)

Lineage SU-addon (check your needed version: 14.1 arm or arm64) -> the removal zip is available here too.

    KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows Omni source with many additions/changes

    PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the buildin OTA app that needs TWRP recovery installed to work.
You can still use LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved in the "AICP_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

The new official build is up
    Changes,
    1. Everything from my last test build:
Updated gps from Omni (gets a lock much much faster now)

Added the mobile payments fix from Lineage

Fixed an selinux denial (they just keep popping up...)

All the features that were removed when we went rootless are back, and are in their own section in aicp extras

    This includes BlackScreen 2.4.5

    2. The root extras section of aicp extras was improved
    3. Switched to blu_active as the default cpu governor, this will make things much smoother

This is a work in progress guide to getting great battery life
Note: This guide is meant to be used on my kernel, there's several optimizations that I've left out of this guide because I enabled them by default in my kernel

    1. Underclock the big cores to 1900mhz
    2. Set the GPU governor to simple_ondemand
    3. Set the vibration strength to zero (or close to zero) in the misc section
    4. Set the default I/O scheduler to noop
    5. Go to developer options and turn off the logger buffer sizes (you will have to turn this back on in order to get a logcat for bug reports, and to pass safety net)

    6. Use greenify to enable aggressive doze and doze on the go, and use it to limit background apps

    7. If you underclock the big cores even more in kernel adiutor you'll get much better battery life, you'll also get much better battery life if you underclock the little cores to 1440MHz

    8. Turn off all animations in developer options
    9. In kernel adiutor set the low memory killer values to the aggressive setting
    10. Disable fsync (risky, you could lose data if the system crashes)

    11. Use the suspend actions in aicp extras and turn off the ota checker
    12. Use privacy guard, and the wakelock blocker in aicp extras/system extensions to block wakelocks

    13. In aicp extras/ various ****, enable sensors block per package

    14. Turn off WiFi before turning off the device, otherwise it will have issues going into deep sleep

    ==================================================================================================================================================================================================================
This is a work in progress guide to getting great Performance at the expense of battery life
Note: This guide is meant to be used on my kernel, there's several optimizations that I've left out of this guide because I enabled them by default in my kernel

    1. Go to developer options and turn off the logger buffer sizes (you will have to turn this back on in order to get a logcat for bug reports)

    2. Use greenify to enable aggressive doze and doze on the go, and use it to limit background apps

    3. Turn off all animations in developer options
    4. Overclock the little cores to 2188mhz, and the big cores to 2342mhz
    5. Disable fsync (risky, you could lose data if the system crashes)
    6. Enable ksm, and use zram for more free ram, good for gaming
    7. Set the CPU governor to wheatley

Since we all love status updates: I have not forgotten Oreo, I'm currently trying to get the camera working, I know codeworkx and the x2 devs have it working but either they're leaving something out or their fix isn't working for me for some reason, so I'm trying to sort that out, I have many major improvements for the next Oreo build, just want to get the camera working first
