Okay, odd result: when I restart the tablet plugged in, it cycles between showing me the battery charging icon and going dark. Won't start. If I unplug the tablet, I can start it. Just me? Anyone else?
Hi @shonkin

This is normal and you should not worry about it, when the charger is connected you need to hold the power button in for longer, and typically until you see the Samsun logo come on the scree.

If this is not suitable for you, then you can disconnect the charge cable and then power it up which is quicker, but typically I dont turn the tablet off when in normal use, though lately @thompatry has had me do some coo testing on Nougat so shut downs were frequent, and I become skilled at turning it on with the cable connected [emoji6]

However there is nothing wrong with the tablet so dont worry [emoji2]

Cheers,

David.

Great Work. I love your ROM. Thank you very much. I have only one problem I can not connect to my WiFi. I always get an authentification error although everything is correct.

Hi @thompatry thank you very much for this, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year....!

Wow very fast!

I'm not sure if this is important but when installing I'm getting this message --> E:unknown command [log] --> see attached photo

Everything seem fine with the exception of when I install SuperSU and update the binary it goes fine until I restart, when restarted it hangs on CyanogenMod boot screen then I need to wipe everything and reinstall, I've tried mutable restarts and wiping Dalvik Cache.
Could this be caused by having the wrong bootloader? I struggle with this stuff and I honestly don't know what bootloader I have, when I click the link for latest bootloader all I see to download is ( Odin3_v3.10.6.zip and BL_P900XXU0BPA1.tar.md5 ) which I have downloaded but I don't see a tar file to download, same thing on both the computer and tablet.

Thank you:)

I have the same issue. And I'm on the latest lollipop bootloader. If you're on the KitKat bootloader, the ROM wouldn't boot at all. So you must have the right one. Well, not a problem really since root works through the system. But anyway....

Thanks. I began to suspect I'd also allowed the tablet to get dangerously low power-wise; things get a little dicey sometimes even if it is plugged in when the battery is reading 3% charge. Heh. Left it charging over night and things seem more stable this morning.

I've barely touched the Nougat split screen stuff yet. Will have to look up how to access / use that bit.

Looking great. So many thinks to you and all involved.

Thanks thompatry awesome update,
Is there any way to enable the on-screen navbar on nougat, I prefer it over the hardware buttons but I don't see the feature anywhere in settings.

Thanks for the info, from what I read that's how I understood it to be (wrong bootloader and it wouldn't boot) but when I was having the trouble with SuperUS I was wondering if I misunderstood.

Everything works fine without SuperUS, maybe it not necessary any more.....?

SPen removal/insertion detection is working for anyone that's interested.

Titanium backup is working if you copy the files to /sdcard/TitaniumBackup but the option to access the external SD Card doesn't seem to be there anymore.

Hi @Don B

You dont really need to install SuperSU, jsut enabled developer mode, then turn on root access. Root is a default service within CM, it just comes disabled by default, which gives the user greater controll on wether they want to turn it on or not.

You will need to turn it on if you want to use Deathly Auditor, which I would highly recommend if you want to govern the charge rate and also the sound quality/loudness.

Cheers,

David.

Hi @Don B

Sorry for the second post, I only just realised this one after I had clicked send :)

Anyway dont worry about the error, it has no bearing or impact on the system at all.

Cheers,

David.

Great Christmas present and a great send-off for a long-time ROM.

Here's to the new year and hoping that Tom is inspired by the new LineageOS and can keep our old friend well equipped in the new year!

Great work. Everything is running perfectly, although I was naughty and dirty flashed over CM13 ;)
This will keep the tablet going into 2017, and we'll see what happens now with CyanogenMod now that's going to be gone forever.

OmniRom or LinageOS?

Hi @Manya3084

I did a dirty flash during the testing process, and I can say that it was OK for a bit then it went downhill after that, I would highly recommend doing a clean flash, this will ensure the best longevity out of the install and the best experience as well.

How I did the install to ensure best operating smoothness:

1. Used TWRP to backup the data, I did a full backup as I have about 117 apps installed

2. I do an advanced wipe and I wipe every single thing, so I pretty much tick all the boxes

3. I Install 7.1.1 and then choose the Option to wipe Dalvik (Assuming you are running latest TWRP) it should be a button, if not then go into advanced settings and wipe Dalvik/ART cache

3. Install GApps and then Wipe Dalvik/ART Cache again

4. Boot into system and activate the system, so go through the full setup process, once completed shut down

5. Boot into recovery and then load your backup and all should be loaded back up

WARNING! Recovering a backup from a previous version is actually not recommended, I found apps glitching badly and some forced closures and instability issues, so in the end (During the testing process) I ended up wiping it clean one last time and rebuilding from scratch, and then making a backup of everything once it was rebuilt, so any future releases from @thompatry would be able to take a recovery

If you guys are not happy with the default Google Camera, through my research I found quite an amazing camera application called "Open Camera" and it has amazing settings and capabilities, so many give that a shot from the default camera :)

Anyways, it is Xmas here in Australia so Merry Xmas to you all, I truly hope you all enjoy the hard work that @thompatry put into getting this out quickly with the rest of the dev team, and you all have an enjoyable and safe Xmas.

I need help here, is there any way to enable the on-screen buttons on nougat?
Hi @SSam96

This is dependant on the launcher, right now I am using the Pixel Launcher which does not have it, but you can download something like Nova and that will allow you to do it.

I am unsure of other ways to do it.

Cheers,

David.

(PS) I will research if there is a way to do it natively on 7.1.1 without the need of a new launcher, but that will take time as I am running around seeing family for Xmas at the moment.

What will happen to p900 now that cyanogenmod will ceased uploading nightly jan 1 2017...?
Hi @risant

I wouldnt worry too much as @thompatry and the other devs maintain this ROM version, which is why it is unofficial CM version, though I am not eniterly sure of the need for nightly updates at this stage, if there are any serious security concerns I am sure that the dev team will ensure that they are patched.

Cheers,

David.
