Do the nightlies include any security patches from Google? I see that Google still do monthly security patches even though the development of Android 7 stopped in November 2019. I have a friend who is on Android 5 who I would like to advise about either updating to Lineage or biting the bullet and replacing this tablet. Thanks

I tried update but now stuck at boot (logo animation)
I made a few attempts with 2 different updates.
I hope someone could help me.

You are using twrp 3.1.1.0 which is removed from repository cause it's broke and caused users lots of pain, such as bootloops, random reboots etc..
Use twrp 3.0.2.0 this is the last working version. Unfortunatly it can't detect adoptable storage, so place updates in internal storage like /data/lineageos-updates.
If this does not help, try a clean flash of your updates using twrp 3.0.2.0

Skype, Zoom, Audio does not route to speakers.

Just started my Lineage experience on an SM-T520 with LOS 14.1-20180908-NIGHTLY-n2awifi.

- No audio with Skype. Tried the Skype echo service, to no avail: Nothing gets echoed.

Seems that Skype does not recognize the tablet's speakers and skype displays a "speaker off" icon.

Update: When using headphones, sound works fine both for Viber and Skype.

Did you ever get your audio problem sorted out???? I have the same issue. Also the same issue with Zoom.

Problem seems to be that "call audio" is not automatically routed to device speakers. But if you start a call with a headset, that works, and then you can switch manually to device speakers.

Thanks for the help!

I had serious stability issues as well. Review your flashing proccess. This is what I did. System wipe the stock rom. Do a nandroid. Flash new rom. Wipe dalvick and cache. Boot it. Shut it down. Boot recovery again. Flash gapps and wipe dalvick/cache again. reboot and you should be fine. I then went back into recovery and flashed supersu and wiped again and its super stable and everything works.

I don't know how it happened, but the wifi problem went away by itself! all I did was insert a micro SD card when the device was off. also thank you very much for your suggestion :)

a couple issues

Hey guys!
Very good firmware. I realy like to use it. But I had 2 problems.
1. After the split screen mode for several applications, I have the application menu button along with the entire bar moved to the right side of the screen and I can not return it down.
2. The sound in the messenger (Zoom etc.) does not work. The camera and microphone work fine, but there is no sound. I can't hear anyone. Also, while this application is working, there is no sound in the speakers even in other music applications.
Please fix these issues.
Thanks in advance!

Your issue was reported to occur on skype. There it sends a notification "no speaker found". Solution was plug in earphones and plug out again while running zoon/skype, then sound output should work.
Thank you for your help! It really works

Dear developers!
Could you fix this error in one of the following updates. Many of us have a tablet with this firmware that is used by elderly parents, who are hard to understand, and even more so do this trick every time with headphones.
You are very talented people. I am sure that it will not be difficult for you to solve this problem.
With best regards!

Zoom audio not working. I can hear in YouTube video. Please help.

Problem solved. Plug earphone first before starting Zoom. Once meeting starts remove the earphone. We can hear the sound in tab speakers.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1.x (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>

    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
     *
     */

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    Important information:
This thread is for Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 builds for picassowifi/n2awifi (SM-T520). The following will not be supported here:
    • Custom kernels
    • Mods
    • Xposed

I don't support Xposed and any logcat which includes a Xposed module will be ignored. You're kindly invited to not report bugs if you:
    • Flashed a custom kernel
    • Installed or did mods from untrusted sources
    • Modified system files

    Installation

First time flashing LineageOS 14.1 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
    • Download the zip(s)
    • Install a compatible Recovery
    • Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
    • Wipe data/factory reset
    • Flash LineageOS
    • Install the Google Apps addon package (Optional)
    • Install Nightlies-Downloads[/SIZE][/B]
Builds are built weekly now through the Exynos5420 Jenkins Server

Was just looking on the review what is in the new update or not.
The chance on the "use our cache" seem to be near the built time, is tis all on the same server or are the timelines on par?
Cause tis is an ineresting item to monitor to see performance wise.
    Just curious ;)

15th build is running smooth btw!

Use our own cache allows the lineage updater to function for official builds which i can now confirm we will be going official! It will be enabled for next weeks weekly.

Thanks for this great ROM :)
Can we set the updates to manual or will it check the Exynos-Team page for newer updates so we can set it to look everyday for new updates?

Today there is a new version on.
There should be a new nightly on every friday.
