I also have the green overlay in Instagram and Chrome.

Please tell if a logcat is necessary.

EDIT: I've made some tests. The green overlay happens in videos displayed in web browser, Instagram and Tweeter. However, In Facebook, Netflix and YouTube everything is fine.

Hi!

Just joined xda and I first wanted to say that I really respect the job people like fefifofum are doing.

I have just installed the 14.1 ROM updating from the 13.0 ROM. It works fine, seems stable (as I could check within the last hours) and smooth.
I am experiencing the same problems with video playback in Chrome.

An other problem I did not have in the last offical CM-Version, where the orientation of the lock screen was set automatically.
I experienced also with CM 13.0 ROM that the lock-screen is bound to portrait mode and does not change to landscape mode, like it did before using the official 12.1 CM ROM... Any hint, what I am missing?!

TIA
Ibi

@fefifofum Would you be interested in becoming the official CM maintainer for the v500?
This comes up here from time to time.

Again, TL;DR is: he has applied / tried contact with CM guys multiple times. Got no response. Has since gave up on getting official status.

So, unless you have some special contact within the powers that be, I'd suggest you let it go. It's CM's loss anyway not having such a high quality device build on their roster, and the only loss for us is that we don't have automated / nightly builds (which for my part I don't care anyway - I much prefer periodic builds by the maintainer with some relative expectancy of stability, as opposed to the occasional breakage of nightly builds).

Being a part of the CM team (the community side), I do indeed have "some special contact within the powers that be". ;) It's regrettable that he never got a response and it is likely because there is a long backlog on the devrel emails currently.

In fact, while typing this response I got him approved already so he has received an email with details if he wants to accept it. :)

Huh, who would've thought :)

Well, thanks for the intervention, and I apologize if I came across a little bitter. It still doesn't make much of a difference to me, but fefifofum certainly deserves the recognition, and I guess getting official status is important for some people around here anyway.

Cheers!

No worries.

I'd say the biggest benefit for him is the ability to communicate directly with team members and to be able to swap solutions for issues with others, something that is especially helpful while bringing up a device on a new CM/Android version.

The benefit for CM is obviously another active maintainer and support for more devices. All in all, it's a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Official cm-14.1 builds for v500

Thanks @blunden I became CM maintainer for the gpad. I created the cm-14.1 repos from awifi-dev and we already got accepted for cm-14.1 nightlies, so I'll soon update the first post and use this same thread for official builds. I think it's great news for us, and a big help for me. The only difference with my builds will be the device codename, it will change from awifi to v500.

Congratulation @fefifofum its nice to know that.
We have also to thank @Deltadroid because he is making a good job as well and we hope e can continue helping fefifofum with is work.
Yes, we should be thankful to all contributors. Nothing is stopping Deltadroid, or anyone else for that matter, from contributing to the official builds too. It's as simple as uploading changes to our gerrit. The maintainer is the one with the merge privilege though but in that regard it's no different from now.

Looks like v500 is now listed at cmxlog.com now just wait for the build!
We are still having datacenter issues unfortunately so many of the builds fail to upload to the mirrors correctly.
