Stupid me tried to upgrade straight from 12.1 since the OTA update announcement popped up. I figured it would be fine if i just installed the Kitkat bootloader and updated, but that resulted in a stuck boot even if i rebooted manually. I solved it by wiping everything with TWRP and re-flashing from there, in case someone else does the same.

Anyway, ROM appears solid and it's good to have official support for the v500. I've been following the CM13 thread but never installed it because it didn't make it to the official repos. A couple issues though;
- the lockscreen is always in portrait mode, even if screen orientation is set to landscape.
- the privacy guard doesn't allow denying internet access, i wish this will be re-implemented, because then i don't need a third party firewall at all.
- VLC crashes when trying to set brightness by sliding a finger on the left-hand side of the screen, never done that before on 12.1 (same version of VLC)

Thanks!

settings -> display -> rotation settings -> rotate lock screen
Thanks, but that doesn't seem to do what i mean. I usually use my v500 in landscape mode only, and the auto-rotation is disabled. When i lock the screen, the lockscreen (and pattern lock) is displayed in portrait mode, regardless of what i do on the settings page you mentioned. Rotate lock screen is enabled but greyed out since auto-rotate is disabled, as i prefer it to be.

In 12.1, lockscreen was also set to whatever the rotation mode was set to.

Sorry if already mentioned, if i update TWRP can I dirty flash CM 14.1 over official CM 12.1 ?
I tried it, and my device got stuck in the booting sequence, even if i rebooted it manually many times over. I had to do a full wipe, and then re-flash 14.1 for it to work. It might have been only my device, but i wouldn't try that again. Better do it clean.

I just flashed yesterday's nightly, and i noticed 14.1 doesn't display the 'optimizing app' dialog at all? Only the blue bug shows up, and eventually it finished booting. Made me think it had hung up, again.

This may be a reason why I thought it hung up.

Edit: ok, now it finished booting after more than 8 mins :)

Edit2: today I experienced a lot of unexpected reboots...
