Adaway does not work because the system partition is not writeable. Enter "mount -o rw,remount,rw /system" in Terminal and try again. Worked for me...
The commit to fix sound recorder was just accepted and will be fixed in the next official build.
Is there a way not to download the whole zip and just download the changes?

Cyandelta didn't work, for reason or another the official v500 is not on the DB, maybe it will work in the next few builts when they refresh their db.

I tried cm 14 now the second time. Overall it seems to be very good. But in opposite to cm13 my SD card (as external storage) doesn't work properly. Deleting files with es Explorer or solid Explorer is very slow and in some cases it isn't possible at all (I can't delete the Android folder). Some apps (not all) like Deezer and Amazon video doesn't work with my SD too. I can't download media to my SD with these apps. Of course I tried deleting an re-installing these apps, but the issues are still there. Is it only me or does anybody else have the same problems? If it's only me, I have to format my SD again.
I'm using my SD as external storage, and I don't have any issue copying, moving or whatever function, I'm using ES, Total Commander and MiX and Titanium backup on the ext SD, before formating or do anything make sure your apps which causing the issues has "permission" to use Storage enabled.
I have the same issues as DSC05 and formatted, tried lots of different stuff and nothing. 64gb Sadisk Ultra here and apps like Plex, Pocketcasts and Spotify don't work/find my sd card even with permissions on. Plex is the only app that gives me some feedback.

Thanks for your feedback. And indeed I found out that both apps that I mentioned before, which make trouble with my SD, didn't had the permission to use the SD (though they didn't prompted to allow it as it should be). So I gave them the permission and now the situation is really very weird. While both apps showed me before that I have an external SD that I could use with xx GB of free storage but it simply didn't work, they tell me now both that there is no space left on my external SD! So giving the permission to use the SD makes the situation even worse. Don't know what's going on here...
Some apps, for example titanium backup, work with my external SD without any problem. So one could think the app developer didn't make the apps fit for nougat, but on my Galaxy s7 with Android 7.0 both apps work properly with my external SD.

Did you format your SD as fat32?
There was similar complaints for SD formatted as Ext4 in other XDA posts.
I've Sandisk ultra 32GB, formatted as fat32 never had issue, only faced the permission problem when I had to turn on manually through settings->apps->permission.

Before we all format our sd, someone could maybe try one of the following apps and test if they have full access to the external sd.
Plex, pocketcast, Spotify, deezer or Amazon video.
I tested Plex as @Semero mentioned, and I have the same problem as with the other apps.
When I give Plex the permission to use the sd, it shows me this
WHITOUT Permission it shows me this (though it won't work)
I'm pretty sure that it's a general problem.

Plex give me the same error as yours, not sure if it's apps limitation with cm 14.1 or something else, I'm not an expert.
Google maps works perfectly fine, didn't have any issue and I didn't change any thing on the apps permission.

Thanks for testing. But can you download maps to your SD? I guess in your picture maps doesn't have permission for SD and with permission maps will show you zero space for SD.
Maps worked for me too. That is strange.
EDIT: It look like it works, but when I try to download an area it breaks the download. Permissions are on.
