anybody notice that the 'Input Mode' setting in the messaging app is missing? This setting is crucial for us that use different keyboards for emoji. The setting was under Text Message (SMS) settings, it is no longer there... any way to add it back?

This are the options I used to have and now they are gone..

Text message (SMS) settings:

Manage SIM card messages: allows you to manage the messages that you have stored on your SIM card.
Message center: allows you to enter the number of your Message center where your messages reside while the system is attempting to deliver them.
Input mode: allows you to set the input mode for your text messages. Choose between GSM Alphabet, Unicode, or Automatic.
Thanks

Edit:

Never Mind, I re-flashed the ROM and is all good now, not sure what went wrong the first time, I was coming from a Clean Odin AMDL installation

So I am working on debloating this rom to my liking.

Is it ok to delete all 3 wssync apk files?

I know one of them is for Samsung APP sync/updates, another one is for AT&T OTA updates, and I believe wssyncmlds.apk has something to do with the AT&T addressbook, although after deleting that one from the ROM and flashing, it still asks me if I want to use the AT&T Address Book, which I thought was strange.

I did notice that getting rid of the wssyncmlds.apk file that "syncronize" is no longer always running or even installed, which I actually though that was the at&t address book.

I know that the GE ROM doesn't have these files, but I wanted to make sure that I am not deleting anything that the Samsung MF3 ROM really needs, which so far it seems it doesn't need them.

Have you tried just freezing some of them? Ive found its easier to recover from testing whether my phone was afu.

naaa...I redo these ROMs myself, so no need to freeze anything. I much rather prefer to just delete what I don't want. If I need something, I'll just put it back in and reflash.

But anyway. I know that one of the wssync files is for Samsung to update it's own stuff on the phone, which I delete out of the rom anyway, so I don't use that. The other one is for the AT&T OTA updates, which of course I don't do, so that gets deleted as well.

But the last one, "wssyncmlds.apk" is the only one I am wondering about. As far as I know, it controls the syncing of the AT&T address book, which I assume only noobs would use anyway. Since I don't us it, I figured I would delete it as well, although I notice pretty much all the devs keep this file in there for some reason.

There is a running process called "synchronize" if you leave the file in there, and you can disable it in the APPs manager in the phone. So I guess if you leave it in there and don't want to use it you can just disable it anyway, but I figured if I am not going to use it, why should I have it cluttering up my ROM.

I was just curious if anyone knew if that files does anything else besides syncing of the AT&T Address book.

Also on a side note. I was running the GE 4.2.2 rom for weeks which ran really well, but after trying out this new MF3 Samsung ROM, I found that it runs very well and much better than the last MDL release. I was becoming a purist with the GE rom, but now after seeing how well MF3 is running after cleaning up the crap out of there, I am thinking I might stick with that for while now. I was surprised.
