I don't think its due to missing drivers. I was able to mount my old sdcard manually via terminal just fine (think even vold did as well).
Just the android file browser or some applications had issues to access the card directly.

Don't ask me why ;) but i think it's the document provider not beeing able to, well , provide files from the exfat mounted sdcard.

So i moved everything via terminal to internal storage, then formated the sdcard as ext device via settings dialog. SDcard was accessible after that (for instance TB had access again) - so i moved files back and since then enjoy my linos :)

Thank you, good explanation but Nougat seems a bit halfbaked. By the way, I am on the Feb 24th build and it does not pick up any updates - should it do that? It complains there is an internet connection problem but I have no problems using the browser on the tablet.

Also, I just tried using the latest version of Acrobat to view some of the many PDF-files I had on the tablet since CM 13. A few of them open correctly but on the large majority Acrobat complains that the file is corrupt or damaged - very unlikely.

Last, I just tried the audio player (I had installed the pico apps) and it stutters on mp3 files that played perfectly on CM 13.

Curious to hear if the three issues above are seen by others as well?

Thanks.

Today I wanted to install the latest weekly since the version of Lineage 14 I have installed is from late February. I verified md5 sums yet TWRP complained that zip signature verification failed and when I then tried to install without verifying the zip signature, I got an error 7 from TWRP and could not install it.

Is there a problem with the build system?

Could be, don't know to be honest. I've been swamped in RL issues, work and a sick godfather (who passed away last week :( )

I had a tip from @anks329 for a fix for netflix. Build a test build, which will be uploaded for test. Image with 'netflix' patch can be downloaded from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120721460 . Can someone test this image to see if netflix streaming works again with this patch?

@T_I, sorry to hear about your godfather. :(

Could you please provide a link to that patch or did you already commit it to LineageOS/android_device_samsung_gts2-common? Installing your build now...

I created patch https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/167627/1, but it's a complete revert of another patch. I'll try a new build with just the changes fo mediaserver.te and keep the mediascodecs.te file. (as I don't know what breaks when I delete that selinux set) I uploaded patchset 2, building with that now.

It looks like @RaymanFX merged a fix for this as well: https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...mmit/9db8ceca20d0250bc11698e3507949b3046422f9 I think this might solve the issue?
Patch set 1 worked but both patch sets 2 and 3 (in my lineage-14.1-20170403-UNOFFICIAL-gts210wifi.zip build) don't work.
Then I'm curious if @RaymanFX his patch works. Compiled it with just his patch, removed mine. (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298944748)

Sorry to hear about your godfather.

I installed your release of today on my T810 but am still having problems playing back some, not all, mp3 files. A codec issue?

I also continue to have problem with Acrobat where only a minority of PDF-files can be viewed, the rest are "corrupted" etc. Those same files all worked perfectly on CM13.

If the next weekly is released tomorrow, Tuesday, I will try that release. The last one failed zip signature verification and then TWRP aborted with an error 7.

It looks like the splitup between mediacodecs and mediaserver was needed to get all the codecs working correctly, but it killed netflix.

I don't understand this: I am running TWRP 3.1 from ashyx and just installed the latest "nightly" Lineage released today (should really be called weekly):
- Zip-signature verification still fails. I cannot imagine I am the only person encountering this - how come the official Lineage build system has not been fixed yet? As a sidenote, the su zip also fails this. This time, however, installing Lineage did not abort with an error 7 so I was able to complete installation.
- Playing most of my mp3 files still does not work properly in that most files skip a few seconds every few seconds.
- Still unable to use Acrobat to view most of my pdf-files that used to work in CM13.
- Still unable to view my external 64 GB sdcard but a 1 GB card works fine.
Given the file system issues I am wondering if the Acrobat issue is also a file-system issue?

I am not blaming T_I at all and I do recognize his hard work. I am, however, very unhappy, ever since I installed Lineage 14 over a month ago, I essentially have a paper weight. The list of bugs remaining that is on the first page of this thread is not really correct. What I have on my tablet can at best be described as a very early beta.

Am I the only one with these problems?

@hga89, I haven't encountered any of those problems on official builds, but because I'm too impatient to wait a week for updates to trickle down, I started building my own. I suggest for you to also go back to unofficial builds, either T_I's or mine, at least until official weeklies become nightlies. I build daily for our gts210wifi.

While RaymanFX develops his fix, could you revert the repo back to your patch set 1? I know it's not an elegant solution, but Netflix works. :good:
