Hello guys, I plan to switch from stock rom to lineage rom because the Sony make no updates for the security. My problem is that I use the smart stylus cover SCR44 and I love the function with the window. Works the actual rom from lineage with the SCR44?

As many others, I am planning to switch to the official Lineage OS due to the lack of updates by Sony.

  1. Does the official LOS consists of the Sony stock kernel and blobs like the version in the first post of this thread? (And therefore provides high camera quality)
  2. Which Sony features/apps can be ported/included in the official LOS and how?
  3. Are there any known issues to consider before flashing the official LOS?

If there is a FAQ somewhere which handles these questions I'd highly appreciate a link to it.
Thank you very much in advance guys :)

I am having constant problems with last several updates. I have "dirty flashed" via twrp. Currently on "lineage-14.1-20171201-nightly-suzuran-signed.zip"

The problem is setting Trebuchet as default home app. It will not set, and seemingly randomly will ask which app I want as default. I have tried setting Google Now as default via the pop-up notification as default. I have tried setting Google Now "just once" a few times, then going back to Trebuchet. I have tried setting the default via app settings. I have tried setting it to Google Now and then back to Trebuchet (both via pop-up and app settings). I have tried iterations of all that with resets. I have reset all app preferences. I have re-flashed ROM.

All of that and it still won't set my default home app so I constantly have to set it.

Any ideas?

I have tried "clean flash", multiple different nightlies, tried to remove Google Now Launcher with various tools, re-flashed twrp, etc. Nothing changed.

Figured out a workaround, though (so the other posters who have had this issue can try it out).

Ended up downloading the "nano" opengapps package, which doesn't include the google now launcher. I also tried using a modified install using config files excluding the google now launcher on the larger packages which also worked. Hope that helps someone.

Anyone else have problems with notification sounds still coming out of their speakers when a headset is plugged in? I'm using some Shure 215s.

No. But I'd no notification sounds at all while hearing music with my earplugs (music simply stops and starts again after notification has finished) until I removed AudioFX and rebooted the device. I don't know if the removal or the reboot fixes the problem...

Now there are notification sounds, but they have a very low volume compared with the music volume.

My speakers are and have been always silent...

Hey, anyone have problems with vibrate on touch at all? It seems to turn on and off every once in a while for absolutely no reason. Seems to come back randomly when you. I'll be doing a clean flash in a couple hours and I'll let you guys know the results.

Hello all--first, I want to thank you for all the work in this thread and elsewhere!

I have a problem with the main camera on my Z5C. I'm currently running LineageOS w/MicroG (the MicroG build), and the front / selfie camera works fine with all camera apps, but the main camera just displays noise with vertical stripes using stock LOS camera, Open Camera, and Simple Camera. It worked--kind of, not really, very poor quality, screwed up color--on the first LOS build I installed. Newer builds (or passage of time) --> nothing at all on main camera now.

Does anyone think they can solve this problem? Or perhaps you just have some ideas / directions?

Thanks very much braintrust!

Hi,
I have a similar problem. Front camera working fine. Back camera started to display vertical lines and strange colors.
Flashed Carbon Rom - same problem. Back to stock - same problem.
Conclusion : Is hardware related - camera failure. I will send it in service ( I still have waranty).
BR.

Main camera failure with LineageOS

Thanks for the data @mbgheban. I'm not completely convinced it's a hardware failure yet. For me, it definitely coincided with LineageOS installation--that doesn't mean the LOS installation caused it, but it is suggestive. If it is a hardware failure, I suppose I'm out of luck.

If it is software, I wonder: is there a way to install original camera software / firmware / drivers / crypto keys without building my own LineageOS?

Before install the ROM I wipe almost all partitions. (excpet the sd card)

And after the install & reboot, my phone has only 8Go free disk internal space.

While checking left space in option, it says System : 20Go, which seems to be a lot....

Any idea on that ?

No. Install stock and test...

Thanks for the reply @Berni-0815 . That seems like a lot of work, especially since my phone is encrypted and IIRC the latest TWRP doesn't yet support it! So I suppose I'm stuck wiping, reinstalling, and setting up everything again if I want to test that way.

I wonder, is there anything else at all that I should be trying before I go to all that trouble? Thanks again for your thoughts.

I had exactly the same problem. With the installation of Los I started to have the first camera issues. Firstly, it was just bad quality, then green stripes, then drop outs, now nothing at all.
In the process, i had done a complete revert to stock just for clarity. Nothing changed. The camera was gone for good...
I did some reading and it appears the back cameras of the earlier days have issues and are to be exchanged in case of any problems, no questions asked.
However, it also occurred to me that the constant flashing of different (beta) ROMs had its role in this play. Maybe some bad driver was just giving the camera too much juice for a while?

Anyway, once i return from my travels, i will have to get a replacement camera. Good thing is, they're pretty cheap ;) and tutorials how to do it are easy enough to follow.

Update on my button press vibration problems:
It's a hardware issue, my phone is dying. If you have the same problem of the press vibration disappearing randomly, the motor or whatever is connecting it is broken.

Had the same issue. Before flashing LOS you need to boot your phone to the stock rom and wait till it asks your for pin code.

LineageOS 14.1 for the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact

    Code:

    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

If you enjoy this rom why not Donate to support future releases and hosting ;)

Additional Information: This is the FIRST ever released Z5 Compact custom AOSP ROM that is using the Stock kernel and blobs. What this means? Not much, exept for the stock like camera of cause, if that is something you care about ;)

Now stop reading this post. Seriously. You are wasting your time. FLASH THIS AND TAKE PICTURES!

HUGE THANKS; to all the lineage and kitakami devs who have been working on this, and continue to work hard on this to get you (and me) the best rom that they can! :)
NOTE:This uses stock kernel and blobs - meaning NO RECOVERY. Please know how to use "fastboot boot boot.img" if you get stuck anywhere

    NOTICE:
It has been really fun porting and Lineage and Carbonrom top the Z5C, and it has been amazing to see you guys (The community) try it out for yourselves and make your own builds. Due to my Z5C being broke I have passed it on to a recycling company - meaning I can no longer test or update builds. Please do feel free to link your own builds in the comments (As long as they do not breach the rules of course ;) )
Thanks for the support this year - and I want to thank those who are keeping their own builds up to date! :)

    I love how https://github.com/olefb/android_kernel_sony_msm8994/commit/39fe2aaf4701a1ea81812aeaa524d2271b6d33ef

Is literally doing nothing, because all the makefile code to actually compile the driver is commented out ;P

So I think all that was needed was the proper bcmdhd config.

    Nice job though :)

Hah, yeah, I haven't had time to test if it works without that whole commit. Check @zacharias.maladroit's comment here, though: https://github.com/zachariasmaladro...mmit/4ae82dfd11047aeab84dffea3deb80a4b3b0cba1

Hoping it's fine to post a build here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B629ORx1POtQRVZXRHVYMVB0RlU

Also included the latest changes from Gerrit that fix fingerprint and should fix Bluetooth calling. Be grateful to the people who have been maintaining these LineageOS device trees (just mentioning a few here: Olivier K., Nickolay S., Giulio C., Balázs T., Vladimir M., Evgeny P., Chirayu D., Christian O. (Myself5 here), Rohit G.). They don't get enough credit from us users!
