WhatsApp hangs sometimes when I'm typing (I use Gboard).

Otherwise I'm very satisfied with madOS_8.1.0_s3_h560_20190722, thanks!

I could reproduce the problem when running "adb logcat". The log shows:
02-11 21:59:15.102   490  1282 E AlarmManager: RTC Alarm: 0 null com.google.android.gms com.google.android.gms.nearby.exposurenotification.ble.scheduler.ACTION_SCHEDULE_TASK

02-11 21:59:39.615   255   883 E AudioALSAStreamOut: -getPresentationPosition(), no playback handler, *frames = 151552, return
02-11 21:59:39.620 17286 17330 E Avrcp   : play status change 1➡0 mPlayStatusChangedNT: 1
02-11 21:59:39.620 17286 17330 E bt_btif : register_notification_rsp: Avrcp device is not connected, handle: 0x0
02-11 21:59:39.636 17286 17330 E Avrcp   : play status change 0➡1 mPlayStatusChangedNT: 1
02-11 21:59:39.637 17286 17330 E bt_btif : register_notification_rsp: Avrcp device is not connected, handle: 0x0
02-11 21:59:39.637   255   883 E AudioALSAStreamOut: -getPresentationPosition(), no playback handler, *frames = 151552, return
02-11 21:59:39.658   255   883 E AudioALSAStreamOut: -getPresentationPosition(), no playback handler, *frames = 151552, return

I guessed that this has something to do with keypress sounds. So I switched those sounds off in Settings > Sound > Advanced: Dial pad tones, Touch sounds and Vibrate on tap all OFF. This solved the problem with WhatsApp and Gboard!

Hello guys,
I'm searching for TWRP 3.2.1-0 for S3, please help ...
Where can I download it?
Thank you
TWRP 3.2.1-0 = twrp_20180417.img
Today I tested it on my JU. I'll put it on any server tomorrow. Be of good cheer.

Img will be lying here as long as my JU S3 is working, and since I replaced his battery, I think it will be 3 years...

TWRP 3.2.1-0 = twrp_20180417.img

Good luck

Don't. Unless you are 100% sure that NGM Forward Run and Wiko Iggy are just rebranded Jiayu S3 devices like in the case of Cherry Mobile Flare X -- a rebrand of Jiayu S3.

Screen Shot 2021-05-07 at 12.32.00 PM.png

Two days from now will exactly be four (4) year anniversary of this post. My Jiayu s3 decided to give up the ghost a couple of days back. It keeps on bootlooping to TWRP. I have a strong feeling that the emmc finally reached its read/write limit, or the system partition got corrupted or it could be just a case of bad volume button auto-pressing the right combination that results in everlasting boot to TWRP and not to system. Either the emmc or the power-volume assembly is whacked.

Luckily, I bought a used unit and it has a good motherboard. Bought it just because I need to replace the back cover, as mine has cracks and chips on a couple of sides already. The seller gave the entire unit as it is already unusable for him because the screen is broken. He told me that the only thing broken is the screen and that the motherboard is still good. I was only able to confirm it now because it is now installed on my Jiayu S3. I could say that my device is alive. I won't install MADOs on it and will leave it at its current KitKat OS. My dad will be using it now.

I am moving on.

My new device will arrive a couple of days from now, and when it does, I will be moving to the POCO X3 Pro thread.

Had my Jiayus s3 not died on me, I wouldn't have bought a new phone. But four years of service from this beast, I guess, is more than I could hope for from a $100 budget phone. It had given so much to me for so little. Thank you, Jiayu s3.

And to the MADOS devs, thank you very much for your hard work. I wouldn't have enjoyed my journey with the S3 without your custom ROMS. Stay healthy and stay safe!

Now, on to the next!

ps: POCO X3 Pro is codenamed 'vayu', I feel like the ghost of my Jiayu is leading me to his rightful successor. From Jiayu to 'vayu'. LOL

    But my JiaYu S3 , will be always be at my side somewhere on my desk.

    This is a Official Build of madOS ( based on AOSP 8.1.0 Oreo ) for Jiayu S3 (Adv./Basic/Pro) with MTK 6752 SoC

    madOS is based on pure A.O.S.P. with many additional customizations and MediaTek support.

     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    • Boot to the new TWRP recovery
    • full Wipes (dont come crying if you didn't .. ;p )

    • Reboot System

      DO NOT: Flash any rooting zips (SuperSU or Magisk) on the first flash, together with rom

    • RIL (Calls /SMS, Data connection, etc)
    • Wifi
    • Bluetooth (calls, media, file transfer, etc)
    • FM Radio

    main changes:

    • All mad extras stuff is now fixed (fastcharge/ weather/ sensors calibration, performance settings, etc, etc)
    • Theme engine:
      This started as an feature from AOSPA on Nougat (and has been depricated ever since... )
      * We forward port to Oreo 8.0.0, and now to 8.1.0

    And don't worry, I'm back to s3, been around him the past week, as well as DerTeufel, there's some upstream to fix that's all, then we can have an updated release
