LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.0 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
  • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
  • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Bug report should be done in following format provided in code below

Hi so I installed this on my XT1806 and it seems that Google Play services is continually crashing. Specifically whenever I use the Play Store. I also have a random issue with Package Manager crashing when I try to install apps outside of the Play Store. I have installed Gapps.

Any suggestions?

I am looking for several options that have been available in the past in both CM and Lineage ROMs. The < > on the on screen button bar to move the cursor while typing. The option the change the battery icon to a circle (and place the percentage inside the icon).

Is privacy guard gone in 8.0? Or just this ROM/Lineage 15?

I've only been running this for an hour and the biggest thing I notice is the settings menu is all in different places. Is this an 8.0 change?

This is an unofficial build for a reason. LineageOS 15 is currently abandoned and now has moved to 15.1. Most of the features haven't been implemented yet.

After successful flash I m rebooting my phone but each & every time I am again coming back to twrp why ?
I had nothing but problems with this ROM (first time with any problems using a Lineage ROM), but not this. I did have this problem when I flashed the stock rom and the /data partition was auto encrypted. Try formatting /data and then reflashing. The first time you load into the ROM setup a pin in case the /data partition is reencrypted.

I would flash back to stock (there is a guide in this forum) at first boot enter a PIN for the encryption, boot into fastboot and flash twrp then flash this ROM again. Make sure your download of this ROM is good. I don't recall if there is an md5 listed for it or not, but check it if there is.

I tried to port this version to the latest version (09 january) of LOS 15.1 for potter following a web guide. Basically I decompiled everything replaced the kernel folder, but the rom didn't want to boot (failed to load Kernel).

I suppose alterations have been made to the linux kernel between los 15 and los 15.1? Note: I have a limited grasp of how these things go (but willing to learn)

This guy is useless stop device support soon , never use a device this guy owns

No one is forcing you to use any ones "Work" and since it is done freely and on their own time, seems the only thing useless is you posting in this manner.

How about this, you take up development and develop for yourself or provide to the Community. After all this is a Development site. Again you are free to develop and provide. But you will stop posting in this manner to the Dev's that provide freely to XDA.

Regarding complaints about the state of updates: LOS has fairly recently started the transition to LOS 15.x, and at present there are only about 25 devices (out of of about 175 devices) for which LOS15 has been made official: https://github.com/LineageOS/hudson/blob/master/lineage-build-targets. Be glad you have any maintainer at all and a place to file bug reports (actual bug reports - not just complaints). People who don’t like the pace could review the LOS official requirements and create a competitive offering: https://lineageos.org/Introducing-the-LineageSDK/ and https://github.com/LineageOS/charter/blob/master/device-support-requirements.md.
