Is it a good idea to buy this tab in 2018? I don't care if the camera doesn't work but is the hardware decoder a big issue and is there a possibility of a fix in the near future?

It's a 2014 model, I'd say don't buy a new one, if you can get a good second hand maybe it's worth it. Videos play fine for me, so the only issue I face is no cam which is because of the shield blobs. But since the cam sux, I don't mind

New are no longer available and used is at a really good price of between 3-5k INR so that's what I'm looking at. Mostly to consume video content, so I need to know if 2k video works fine so I can fully utilize that display, please let me know if Netflix or Amazon Prime works good. Also, to edit RAW photos on Snapseed.

I had no issues with videos from Amazon prime. Snapseed too works well. I'm not a Netflix user so I can't comment on that

Netflix is working for me in the 09/07 version without issues

opengapps installed? if yes, just use pico version.

In the next update can you add a reading mode tile in the quick settings, please? I use reading mode a lot and its a little frustrating to always go to live display to turn it on. This is just a suggestion, if you could do it, it would be great!

On the latest update none of the reboots work, normal reboot or advanced reboots just lead to tablet shutdown.
I switched back to the July build because of this. Though I sometimes face reboots to twrp when tablet is in idle, it otherwise has no problems.

The new kernel lags a lot in game. But when i flash the previous kernel. Its smooth again.

I have an issue with the latest build - the device is always hot due to google services' CPU usage. Battery draining now becomes 3-4 times quicker :-/

Thanks for this great work! still see a bright future of my Mi Pad with this ROM development.

currently i am on 5.8.5, happy with the speed. How's the speed in 6.1.0? even faster?
my battery drain fast (last for one day only).... probably too many background apps. how's the battery performance in 6.1.0?

apps like shareit are not working. Previously I was using Xender but now since camera is not working unable to use it. Any suggestion or suggested App to replace Xender which doenst use camera or QR code.

hi, thanks for the answer.
sorry but seems the mipad got problem detect the usb storage so there is no way to run the fastboot flash img
any other way?

buddy - you need access to internal storage to run fastboot commands. You just need PC and USB cable.

Also, if you are able to boot to recovery mode then also USB storage will be detected

unfortunately no.. it cannot detect at all..
pc didnt show the device after i boot to twrp too..
