Hello twu2,

I was originally on 7.1.2 and all of a sudden, it got stuck on the RR loading screen and refused to load further.

tried vol up + power = can't get into recovery
tried vol down + power = can't get into download mode
tried holding power for >15s = nothing happen

just keeps getting stuck on RR screen. What can I do to do a clean flash to your latest Oreo ROM?

Is it showing device unlocked ?
If it is locked unlock bootloadeer first by
fastboot oem unlock
Then flash.

If already unlocked.... Then u have to reflash stock rim by mi flash

but how do I re-flash stock ROM if I can't even access stock recovery or TWRP recovery? rightfully TWRP recovery is installed. I tried re-flashing recovery but still unable to access recovery.

Mi flash edl mode... Search in google.
I think u made some mistake in flashing tos.img....flash that.
There are two tos.img.... One stock another sheild.
Similerly two recovery also.... One is stock another is sheild.
So flash same type foe both recovery and tos

I can't even go into EDL mode.

tried adb devices when in Fastboot - no device detected.
checked device manager - no device known as Mi Pad under MTP devices or USB
used the EDL tool here (https://www.xiaomigeek.com/edl-mode-xiaomi.html) when in Fastboot - it just rebooted and got stuck at the Remix loading screen forever

Please help me to resolve the "stuck at RR screen" issue! It was working perfectly fine for a few months and I did not flash anything during those few months.

Can u go to twrp?
If yes... Then wipe data.... Uninstall magisk and reinstall magisk. When in recovery device will b detected in pc. There may b sm prob in ur pc also.

Fastboot boot twrp.img(or drag nd drop the twrp image)

Connect the phone to pc... Press all the button simultaneously.
