There are new ROM RR from leosamblas , but I never finish my flashing.
But I don't for the last ROM. (20180415)

The last build by leosamblas in androidfilehost dated 16th of April 2018 is the RR-N-v5.8.5-20180415-d855-Unofficial.zip and contains security patches and is NOT for the 8.1.0 (Oreo) version. It's for Nougat (7.1).

Quite right - leosamblas did produce an unofficial Oreo build, but Mountaser put a stop to that when he took over as maintainer.

Telegram group

How many of you are on the Telegram group ? Is it a good platform for reporting bugs, posting logs and getting responses ? Is it better or worse than XDA and if so why ?

I simply ask this because Telegram appears to be the only way to contact the maintainer, and I don't know if there is any feedback to XDA when issues are discovered and resolved on Telegram.

Telegram is the best messenger IMHO. Given it has rich functionality, it's way more than a messenger thus the best option to get into touch with people

That's not what I asked. Is it better for the purpose of reporting bugs, providing logs and getting a response for this ROM in particular ?. I don't really care how good it is as a messaging platform - I mean specifically as a viable alternative to XDA.

Battery life is totally dependent on your particular phone, apps and useage. You ought to try it and compare for yourself. It's the only way as there is no definitive answer.

Yes it is way better than XDA app. You can easily post them, (even tag with # which makes it easier to find stuff if it is a group) and many other features. Just use it

I never offer a personal opinion on this sort of thing as it's meaningless. You may find it better in some circumstances or worse in others. RR is a great functional ROM but battery life, SOT etc is dependent on the individual.

The thread only suffers because the maintainer prefers to communicate on Telegram. The G3 is not yet dead and the situation here may yet improve.

Well xda is **** when it comes to communicating
There is nobbots for outo replys for FAQ and reall no way of replying 100 posts per day and 1000 per hour on the mi a1 thread xD
And the xda labs apps isn't that good no good notifications no good way to to replay to posts in a fast way and its missing alot of stuff from the web version
So thats why i like telegram its faster ezer and i can get more stuff done faster and am 24/7 online there
If i want to send a file i can upload it in a second and forward it and alot of bots provide alot of useful services and saves alot of time
And like why the hell dose me not responding to posts here means its dead ? You only need the dev to update the rom and the change log and the FAQ
Normally users help each other with random bugs on the thread
And when a problem is big enough ant it turns to be a bug the users pm me and i take a look at it and that's it ! I have been doing xda stuff for the past 2 years and this is the first thread that started giving me headaches lol

Am regularly posting ithe mi thread telling people to pm me on telegram if they need any help and already more than 500 people are in my telegram group
But i have 7000+ users on my mi a1 rom (currently the most used rom on mi a1 and the most device to have users for RR) so uts really hard to keep track of the thread there xD

What about the people that do not want to make use of yet another messenger service?
At the end of the day xda is a good and well established compromise for all users. Especially when you take into account that some countries try to block telegram recently.

Uninstall WhatsApp and start using telegram and lets make the world a better place ?
And telegram doesn't use and data or any of your phone's Resources if you are not using it so there us no harm of having it on your device

Let's face it - it doesn't matter what you or I want - it's what the maintainer decides and that's his prerogative. This thread won't be around long anyway, so when a better one comes along, maybe XDA will show that it is viable and a grown-up place to work together.

I really hope you are right. The RR project should not be about the right messenger but about the best software solution for our devices.
