I'm confused, are you still using your Jiayu S3 plus as of now? You've mentioned in previous comment that or it is what you've experience before? By the way, just recently, after reflashing back to stock rom, I figured out the culprit of the battery drain. I guess it was the google play services which anonymously eating lots of battery.

Yes and no. Your right, the Jiayu S3plus is no longer my main phone (I replaced it with a Le2), but it is stiĺl working and I keep it as a backup.

No, the battery drain has nothing to do with Gapps. I like my phones Google free and use microG instead. If I remember right, I could easily patch and flash MadOS 8 with the help of NanoDroid, but it did not slow down the battery drain at all.

Update from stock 5.1 ROM

Hello, I have an S3+ with the stock 5.1 ROM.
What would be the best way to put this ROM on?
On my other S3 I first flashed 5.1.1 RC5 before flashing the 7.1.2 ROM.
Edit: Sorry wrong thread, the phone is an S3A.

I really like this rom, but there is a recurring and annoying problem: now again it gets stuck to a reboot loop, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to fix it, even reinstalling the rom over itself from TWRP does not fix it. I have to wipe all data and start from scratch, as if the rom was never installed in the first place.

I cannot downgrade to mad os 7.1.2 because it does not recognize my SIM card in my s3+.

Please, what can I do to isolate the cause of this issue and fix it?

Thanks

Sorry for asking but are you sure that your phone is Jiayu S3 Plus [MT6753] ? The only way to get your phone working back is to download stock rom and use SP flash tool. You mentioned that you can't downgrade to madOS 7.1.2, I assume you tried to directly flash madOS 8.1.0 from madOS 7.1.2. While the instruction doesn't mentioned that you need to be in stock rom before flashing this madOS 8.1.0, it is best practice to flash custom rom from stock rom. Just my opinion though. I always do this and I don't have any issues flashing different custom roms.

I believe it would be useful and perhaps @fire855 @superdragonpt and @DerTeufel1980 could also use it to edit the Opening Post for the benefit of everyone? Thanks!
