I used orangefox recovery to flash the rom and magisk. I don't know if it makes the difference but you can try that too.

THX, orangefox worked. But unfortunately double tap 2 wake has gone with the Jaguar kernel
Kernel audiutior misses the option to enable it.

dt2w was enabled by default on stock kernel. i had to download kernel adiutor to disable it because i don't like it.

Yes, in stock kernel it works. But to geht root there is at the Moment for me no other way than Jaguar kernel, which has no dt2w.

after a couple of days, can you report your SOT with jaguar kernel? I want to compare it with the stock one.

Nah. Clean install, flashed 16.10 rom, gapps, reboot, installed magisk manager, went to recovery, flashed 17.3, no root. No root even with 17.2,17.1. Weird..

yes, I will try. At the moment it runs quite well.
Unfortunately, the FM Radio app is missing and the auto brightness is too low.

I flashed RR Luis Kernel on Nitrogen 9, it works good, no problems so far. Per 10% battery I got 55-60 min SOT on Wifi and 25-30 min SOT on LTE. Youtube, FB, some games, calls etc.

it takes a long time to open new apps with this rom/pie. was a lot faster in 8.1. battery life seems to be comparable.

To me battery is not so good as oreo. Maybe next update fix it.

Try this new build from yesterday, nitrogen pie has its own thread now,I'm yet to test it but such issues might have been fixed in this new build.

Official version still on 2018-10-16 build. I don't know exactly what is the difference bettwen 2 versions. But I wolud like to know.

And please if official developpers could create a toppic for official NOS Pie version I will thanks a lot.

Use the arm64 oreo 8.1 pico variant on oreo, and arm64 pie 9.0 pico one on pie. You can get it over here:
https://opengapps.org/
And for recovery or twrp, use the one here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/orangefox/files/santoni/OrangeFox-R8.3-santoni.zip/download
No need to go to adb to flash this recovery, just go to your currently installed recovery and flash this zip, it shall replace the one you have.

If you're flashing the recovery, then a clean wipe is recommended, including your internal storage.
Or if you're just flashing a rom with gapps, then just do a clean wipe, without wiping the internal storage. But even in this case, if you're coming from MIUI to AOSP, then internal storage wipe is also recommended, and the same goes for a shift from AOSP to MIUI.
