You maybe answer the sensitivity level but there is also the need to some kind of powering off the 500KHz signal send when not using the pen.

Then can we use the sensor to activate the pen ? What about the Bluetooth button ?

The wacom screen could be initialize from the begining with Project Trebble. What's the differences with LOS for S9s ?

the phone thinks the pen is a mouse input.

once a framework is built to recognize it as a spen then a discussion can be opened.

it is recognized as a mouse in samsung rom as well(when it is hovering), they just replace the cursor to a hollow circle, I believe this is not too difficult to achieve.. when it is not hovering, it has pressure values just like the samsung rom, it is just up to the apps to utilize it or not,
look up squid they actually utilize the spen, and the spen button.
but I believe it is the other stuff like spen detachment actions or press and hold action to screenshot which are embedded in the UI itself and the apps made for it that make the spen unique,
but in the AOSP envirometn you can get some functionality by using one of the two apps:
GMD Spen Gestures or Spencommand, I would prefer the first one, you can even customize to do more like hold button and draw gesture to simulate the back button, it is really handy

I shared my setup, It doesnt look as pretty as samsung rom, but I achieved a more functional one (at least for my needs), check the second paragraph in this post and check the video at the bottom.

as for the mouse cursor: there was a way through xposed to could change the icon of the mouse cursor but I believe it is outdated now, but a little research I believe it can be done again, I believe it boils down to an image in the system folder that has to be replaced

and to finish this properly: most people will love the spen in samsungs rom, thats where it was baked and works the best, I do respect that. its just finding a way for people who like AOSP roms to get the most of what was lost :D

Also stuck at the boot screen, I've flashed a stock modification instead.

I will be waiting for a revised version which actually can boot, thanks for the effort putting in creating the rom.

Latest version is from 2018-10-18. There is not even an update with latest November security patches.
I have the feeling that this project isn't really alive (yet).
Maybe the dev is already working on a pie version. But that's just a thought.
Also I'm not sure that Jesec have a Note 9 for testing. It seems that he is using a S9 or S9+. Maybe that's a reason that there are no updates for this ROM.

I used ADB to debloat my stock ROM and will stick with it till a stable custom ROM is available.

It began so promising, this thread was one of the reasons for me to get a Note9.

@jesec, whats going on here? Please do not let this development die.

The second last screenshot is taken on a Galaxy S9+...
Actually, all of them probably are, given that no one has managed to get this ROM to boot.

I'd probably have bought the SnapDragon version rather than the Exynos one if I didn't see this thread.

Too late now, I just hope the developer has the time to get this ROM fixed and it can be merged to the main stream.

Note: This is not a ROM based on the ROM shipped with your device. Exynos variants such as International (F), International Dual(Hybrid)-SIM (F/DS), Korean (N) ONLY. In NO way it is compatible with Snapdragon variants including but not limited to American(U/U1/A/T/P/V), Chinese(0/8/6), Hong Kong(0), Japanese(SC-*), Canadian(W) variants.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Device Info:
    • Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos): TBD

    What's working:
    TBD
    • This build is an official LineageOS build. Compliance with our device support requirements is enforced and guaranteed. That means including but not limited to these hardwares will work:
    • Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth
    • Mobile Network (Calling, Data, etc.)
    • Audio
    • USB
    • GPS
    • Camera
    • Fingerprint Sensor
    • NFC
    • Etc. Check device support requirements for more.

    What's not working:
    • Applicable exceptions granted in device support requirements.
    • Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
    • Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
    • IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.

    Instructions:
    • Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional
    • Download the latest build (and optionally gapps)
    • Download the compatible vendor image (https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=284041)
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs)
    • Flash the vendor image
    • Flash the latest build (and gapps)
    • Reboot
LineageOS updater will handle updates automatically (OTA).
If you upgrade manually from older official releases to newer releases, you don't need to wipe your data or reflash gapps.

    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /proc/avc_msg.
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
