I have bad and good news
Good news: the dev does not publish it because he wants to fix all the errors for this rom, because he dislikes having junk mail about the same mistakes and that they do not give logs.
Bad news 2: obviously LOS 16 will not be official.
Good news 2: there are 2 confirmed roms that will have official support, the unofficial rom are DU, Aex, Pixel Experience, Arrow, Pixys OS, Bootleggers, Crdroid and maybe more.

Skype does not work
Next issue: Skype does not work. It just doesn’t start properly and even reinstalling the whole thing does not solve the problem. I can just see a screen that says that Skype introduced new functionalities, has a new design and that it is brandnew.
Is this a LineageOS 15.1 problem or a Skype problem?

I'm on AospExtend 5.2 which is Android version 8.1.0, call quality is garbage, battery life is great though. No HDR on the camera, playstore is all working great.
Does the latest version of Lineage really fix the call quality? How is battery life?
I'm already on 64bit so I guess I shouldn't fear losing my IMEI from update to this ROM?

Yes, why go forward! Lineage 14 has also many bugs, they need to be fixed.

Please can people in this thread stop talking absolute nonsense. Soham and other developers work extremely hard and pay for the resources to develop out of there own keep. Please be patient and google things in here. A mistake is hugely different to a bug. The dev does not cause bugs which are within these roms. They occur like on every other device. There is no real difference between Los Official and Unofficial apart from ota. Nightlys are irrelevant the developer will update when there's a need to. Please just stop complaining about bugs if you do not consider helping your self. Basically think smart before you comment.

For what?
Oreo is out since over a year, Moto G5 has the official oreo update and it's working just perfect. LineageOs 15.1 is so freaking buggy (camera is a desaster), I don't see a benefit waiting for anything. I'm on LineageOs since Moto G1 (when it still was the good CyanogenMod, when a team worked on it and not just a student in his free time).
I don't know if it is this device or if LineageOs is generally dying, but it just doesn't make any sense (at least for me) any more to invest time in custom roms.
Don't waste your time go back to stock if you don't want bugs. If your not willing to be patient stay on stock.
Lineage os isn't dying - you just don't own an officially supported device
Most phones are unofficial and only become official because some guy in his bedroom has spent his time compiling the source code and fixing any bugs and then spending more of his time maintaining the device tree to a standard approved by lineageos
If you want good developers support I suggest buying a Samsung, oneplus or pixel device
Or become the guy in his bedroom who maintains a device tree and stop moaning about others not doing it
For example I didn't like the fact this device didn't have an official twrp that support encryption - so I worked with someone else who told me what needed to be done and I compiled my own twrp with encryption support which later became the official version
Another guy wanted encryption support in the 64bit twrp for this device so I altered the source code of the 64twrp and added the encryption parts of the official twrp & he compiled it

SafetyNet check failing with Magisk 18.0
Can someone who has Magisk installed confirm if the safetynet check passes? I have done a clean install as in the instructions from stock Nougat and flashed Magisk 18.0; both the ctsProfile and the basicIntegrity checks are failing.

Flash the following magisk module and change the device fingerprint - this should fix CtsProfile

For basic integrity if the above doesn't work try magisk the last magisk v17

I came across this module before but the description states that this module is useless if the basicIntegrity check fails
Edit (after your edit): Tried flashing the module nevertheless and it's still the same. Downgrading to magisk v17 seems to be a reasonable thing to do but I'm not sure of doing it. That shall be my last resort

Tried, but it's still the same in the older version - both the checks fail. Is there any other fix that you know of?
If it fails with a clean flash of the rom - no magisk or any other zips flashed you will have to contact whoever compiled it as if they put mods in it then it probably broke basic integrity - might need kernel changes - who knows
I'm running this ROM on Indian XT1677 with stable Magisk v18 and it passes for me. No fingerprint change or anything. Able to use all banking apps as well.

1Quick side note:
Divest seems to support Lineage 15 ASBs by backporting the A9 patches and picking the A7 ones. They even have a custom script to apply the patches. They are known to take stuff to the next level when it comes to security even sacrificing drm, so be careful what you are picking (I think breaking drm changes happen during the blob removal tho, so you should be safe by just adapting the script).

About LineageOS
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1.0 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Flashing and updating
LineageOS clean install :
- Mandatory to flash 64bit recovery
- (Optional) Wipe the data & cache & system(Backup to make sure not to loose data)
- Flash the LineageOS ROM zip from the Recovery
- (Optional) Flash the GApps to have the Google Applications
- (Optional) Every additional zip you want to flash
- Reboot
LineageOS update / upgrade :
- Mandatory to flash 64bit recovery
- (Information) Don't wipe anything unless you want to
- Nothing to wipe when switching
- (FUTURE RELEASES) Might need clean, informations will be updated
- Flash the latest LineageOS ROM zip from the Recovery
- (Optional) Flash the GApps on first install / upgrade. Not required later, but do update sometimes

Reporting Bugs
- DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
- Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
- If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
- If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

As we have found out , Flashing stock whilst having anything 64bit even the recovery for some reason the efs (IMEI) gets wiped..
I do not recommend you revert to stock on any 64bit rom.
