I ended up installing this twice yesterday, the second was a redo so I could remove some of the unwanted stock apps (supplied a gapps-config.txt file).

What's weird is when I went to use the camera in my 2nd install it was giving me an error about needing to mount my SD or something. I tried taking a screenshot, but it said there was a lack of storage space? My phone was basically empty.

I don't think I got that error on the 1st install though, since I did take a screenshot without any problems.

Also, is this ROM compatible with Open GApps? (opengapps.org) I'm guessing not since an unofficial one is provided here. Just asking because eventually I'd like to use a package other than Nano.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to updates on this awesome ROM! :)

Open gaaps work fine now, unofficial one in the Op was put there before real gaps even existed

Clean install with open gapps 8.1. Bit hit and miss setting up but got there. Dirty flashed open gaps but had all sorts of issues. Faceunlock does not work but I do not use it so not a problem. Will see how it goes after a full charge.

Can't kill apps

Hello,

that's maybe a bad question but I can't wind a way to kill the apps that are running in background.
I think it changes since Oreo, but can't find the new way to do this :crying:

Thanks !

Killing apps in the background is generally a bad idea. Besides, Oreo is running a tight ship when it comes to background processes, don't worry about it and let Android work its magic. You can help the system a bit with an app like Naptime, which is much more battery efficient compared to killing.

Ah. It's a minor annoyance that I can definitely live with. However, the phone's mic not working is a bigger problem lol.

Edit: I dug a little more in the forums. According to @Timmmmaaahh, it's now in system/vendor/etc. I'll have to reflash and take a look. My issue is that people can't hear me at all, and it's with every rom I've had on the device. I got it from a friend and he had Oxygen 2.1.4 on it at the time. I've had some LineageOS and Resurrection builds on this in the past couple weeks, and I believe I had the issue on all of them. But the roms in which I found the audio_platform_info.xml and edited I was able to fix the issue.

What are these changes that you make ? People have always told me that they can hardly hear my voice at all at times.

That would be these:
/system/build.prop
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=none
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=true
persist.audio.fluence.voicerec=false
persist.audio.fluence.speaker=false

/system/vendor/etc/audio_platform_info.xml
<device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_HANDSET_MIC" acdb_id="4" />

Then reboot. If there's still an issue, remove the "ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence" line from build.prop entirely (not sure if that even makes any difference) and reboot.

Just updated to latest build 27/02/2018 (Stable), face unlock not working

Sounds like a dirty flash, clean may be required. Try what @atulpchaudhari is suggesting but if it's a dirty flash, wipe only /system, flash ROM + Gapps, clean caches and reboot. Still no luck? Go clean.
Have u tried latest release of GAPPs on this official page below......

Just did full wipe and clean flash, rom + latest official GAPPS, still not working.

Wifi Hotspot Login not Working

Hi, I updated my opo to the lastest version and so far everything is working better than expected with the exception of the Open Wifi Login (or Hotspot Login). With any version of android, when you login to a hotspot you get a notification to login into the network using the browser. Simple and easy. With this last version of oreo i never get the notification and there is no way to log into the hotspot. Yes, I know, you could tell me to do it manually but not every hotspot accept this. In fact, I do get a notification, but not the right one. I get one telling my that the network doesn't have connection to the internet ('cos I couldn't log in) and asking my if I want to disconnect.

So I'm stuck and I cant think of any workaround for this issue. I deleted, factory reset and all kind of alternative with no luck.

thanks,

Esteban

    Now that I'm done saving my butt, let's proceed :D

    Flashing and updating

    Clean Install
    - Backup all your data (Important)
    - Wipe /system, /data and cache.
    - Flash the ROM + GApps (Download link below)
    - Reboot

    Updates
    - Flash ROM
    - Reboot!
    (The ROM has backuptools. You shouldn't have to flash gapps again. Wipe system and flash rom+gapps only when specified in the release post ;) )

    Note: The ROM does support MultiROM, but I do not support custom kernels and mods at this point.

    Issues and reports
    Before submitting a crash/issue/bug, make sure you:
    - Are not using a custom kernel
    - Are not using any mods.
    (In case you are, make sure it's unrelated to the issue and mention it)
    Submitting issues
    Make sure you mention which build you're using and upload a:
    - Logcat
    - Dmesg/last_kmsg (optional)
    Share a logcat using adb or an app like CatLog.

    Frequently asked questions
    Q : Is root access included into AOSP?
    A : No it is not. It is however available via adb. Some testers have had success with Magisk too.

    Q : Can I flash ABC mod? Does the ROM support it?
    A : Yeah sure, but I will not support you. And no, the ROM probably does not support it.

    Q : Can I flash XYZ kernel?
    A : No, there's a fair number of kernel changes from Nougat to Oreo. Thunder kernel is compatible with oreo.

    Q : Is the ROM suited for daily usage ?
    A : Using it as a daily driver :D

    Q : I see errors during the installation, is it normal ?
    A : If it is E:unknown command [log] , ignore it for now

    Q : It says "No OS installed" when I try rebooting from TWRP. What should I do?
    A : Just reboot, it's normal.

    Q : WHEN UPDATE?? GIB UPDATE PL0X.
    A : I only post updates when there's a decent list of changes. I'm a college student and there's only so much I can do. Please do not spam my PM regarding this.
    I will not respond to any messages demanding ETAs

    SEPolicy
    So far, everything seems to be working well on enforcing. On MultiROM, the enforced builds will not boot as secondary. I can look into this later, but for now, feel free to patch up the bootimage to boot as permissive. Also, many mods don't seem to work well on enforcing (For instance Viper4Android; Some reported it to work fine when V4A was used with Magisk). As always, I emphasize on not using mods.

    Face Unlock
    So, OpenGapps appears to ship a 64 bit libfacenet.so. To work around this we have the correct lib at, /system/vendor/lib/libfacenet-32.so. This is mounted on boot over the faulty 64 bit library to effectively shadow it. Also, the current implementation of libprotobuf doesn't appear to work with the old 32 bit face unlock library. Thus, shimming libfacenet.so with an older prebuilt protobuf lib does the job.
    TL;DR: Any gapps package should work with the builds and have face unlock working, but I still recommend the ones I posted on the thread earlier. (Also added in OP)
    A few testers came across an issue where faceunlock would crash due to a selinux denial. Something appears to set the context of libfrsdk.so to "unlabeled". This is probably due to a third party mod as flashing just ROM + GApps doesn't have this issue. In any case, if you're a victim of this, you can either set the build to permissive or just pull the file, delete it on the device and push it back to set the right context. (Or set the context yourself, it needs to be system_file or vendor_file). If you're unsure, just post the log here and others can try guiding you to do the same.

    Here on, I'm marking the builds as "Stable" since pretty much everything device side works now. We can differentiate builds based on the build date which you can conveniently find in the thread title. To make life easier, I can try adding up an OTA solution too, in the near future. Feel free to return to this thread if you come across any major issues. Cheers! :D

    Clean Flash recommended.
    If you don't want to clean flash, just wipe system and cache and flash ROM and GApps. You potentially could still run into issues.
