So if I want to revert back to my old ROM, do i nedd to do a full wipe still since I'm not encrypted, or will i just be fine flashing my old twrp and wipe /system and stuffs and restore my old backup?
I don't know but this will take time to settle and also if someone didn't like the ROM and want to revert then it's you who people will ask from about the issue you can't just say it's not my problem. You've developed this great ROM so now people's problem is your problem [emoji28]Also I'd like to add
The next build will add hardware accelerated encryption and enforce it at boot
You can't switch from cosmic-os/glassrom to any other ROM because of 2 things
Platform signatures will change and the keymaster might recycle your key. Be careful because this means that data can't be decrypted even with the password
No ROMs other than cosmic-os and glassrom support hardware accelerated encryption so they'll have a hard time decrypting data
So if you want to switch from the next build onwards you'll have to format data in TWRP
Is this my problem? No, other ROMs should have followed the CTS and enabled these features on oreo as directed by Google. If they wish to use the "but we're not a manufacturer ROM" reason it's their problem and I couldn't care less if you switch to a ROM that doesn't follow the CTS carefully
Keep hoping.I don't know but this will take time to settle and also if someone didn't like the ROM and want to revert then it's you who people will ask from about the issue you can't just say it's not my problem. You've developed this great ROM so now people's problem is your problem [emoji28]
I really want to try this ROM as I am on Cosmic previous build but knowing lots of bugs about it and not able to switch back is what stopping me from trying this...
Hoping for a stable build..

You are absolutely correct nothing to argue. I was just saying. I tried this ROM the one problem I faced was network which you mentioned "A known bug" that is what i was talking about. Now that I'm done joking
"someone didn't like the ROM and want to revert"
Well is that really my problem? Tell me. Would you ask oneplus to make it easier to flash custom ROMs? And would they actually listen to you?
Anyway changing ROMs implies you're also changing signing keys. As per Google's docs changing signing keys means that all data has to be wiped and the TEE has to destroy the encryption key. This is what happens on a pixel when you unlock the bootloader so I'm not entirely wrong here
"you can't just say it's not my problem"
I can if you don't read the thread before flashing. It is the user's mistake if the user flashes a ROM without reading the whole thread
As for your question, you have to flash the enhanced TWRP for other ROMs from my thread and then flash your other ROM. You can then switch and this information is present in the post you quoted. Mind reading?
"so now people's problem is your problem"
No it's not. You're not paying for this and are getting this for free so there really is no guarantee and I'm not liable
"I really want to try this ROM as I am on Cosmic previous build "
You can't flash this over a build not made by me. Builds made by me are signed with my keys so you can't flash it on top of a build not made by me. Even if the code is exactly the same if the signing keys are different a factory reset is required and the ROM won't boot unless you do
"not able to switch back is what stopping me from trying this..."
If you're talking about reverting to a previous build then this is not supported. Google anti-rollback and AVB rollback index and you'll understand why. Android never supported downgrading
"knowing lots of bugs about it"
Let me know of one bug that you've actually found out
Sorry man, the call bug is actually a common issue on all dual SIM devices and if you were to check github then you can see that they're fixing the issueYou are absolutely correct nothing to argue. I was just saying. I tried this ROM the one problem I faced was network which you mentioned "A known bug" that is what i was talking about.
And reverting back means to other ROMs not only to the previous build or downgrading to previous version. I was talking about clean flashing the OS. In that people are having trouble and yes it's there fault because they don't mind reading instructions.
And i am talking about the ROM you built the Cosmic Universe from where we have moved to this new thread.
I read the instructions and know the procedures and successfully installed it on my phone. You can see above i have also told people to use custom recovery to switch back.
You are doing a great job no complaints!

Yeah there was a small error made while building the last build so that change was never picked uphi all,
come from another rom, did clean wipe, formatted data, installed recovery from OP, reboot to new recovery, did another format data, and installed rom and gapps.
didn't see encryption screen and boot went till the end with no problems. Repeated format data and have begun the process all over again. No encrytion screen again.
The version i downloaded was cosmic-os-july-release-patch1.zip. Is this the 3.2 version? I'm not encrypted, but is there any way of become encrypted now?
Other thing is that in settings about phone i dont see the version of Cosmic Rom, thers no line with the cosmic version.
Cosmic OS august releaseWhich one is 3.2
Flash the recovery given here through fastboot commandI have a problem with the installation of the rom. I flash the vendor recovery via twrp in the recovery partition, then swipe cache and it appears "unable to mount / usb storage" (invalid argument). Restart recovery, I do wipe cache but I always have the same error and I can not flash the rom.
Recovery logs help a lot moreI have a problem with the installation of the rom. unfortunately I had no way to save the log because I needed the smartphone and I proceeded to restore the official recovery and install another Rom. As soon as I have time, I will install the Cosmic OS.Recovery logs help a lot more
Approximately 200 mb worth of data (100 when compressed) is almost never updated between builds so the ROM can be updated with a system-only updateunfortunately I had no way to save the log because I needed the smartphone and I proceeded to restore the official recovery and install another Rom. As soon as I have time, I will install the Cosmic OS.
Excuse my ignorance, why this Rom uses a Vendor partition? Are there any benefits?
Had been trying many combinations and ways of installation. I end up with one or the other problem. Had been trying to read through the internet on fixing these, without much help.Hi,
I installed the "cosmic-os-august-release" and then "open_gapps-arm64-8.1-micro-20181005" . But the play services keeps crashing.
Tried doing this a couple of times, but the same result. Did anyone face this before? Any tips to resolve?
Regards!
Done.I will no longer be updating this
Requesting thread closure
If a new maintainer picks it up you will have to clean flash as the signing keys will be different
