I think Surdu will not answer till OREO released to global (not beta China) sorry for my perfect English Lol
I dont mean to spam but you made me laugh ? i noticed it as well that this forum suffers a lot. Back to the point surdu is making some prototypes and later he abandons them. I believe he is just releasing something unstable and we supposed to improve it... But the knowledge of the active members of this P9 forum is way too limited. Without wanting to underestimate the current devs... To me it seems like the current knowledge is that the P9 custom roms are like official roms with removed bloatware and patched Google updates. No real development. And again adding a custom boot logo and removing huawei services is not making it unique. I really miss samsung galaxy ages when there were 100 custom roms to choose from. Again No offence guys. I can try to work on his rom anf mix a bit chinese emui 8 but seems pointless to be done from only one person when there are 2 active devs and 200000 active noobs begging for bug fixes and no contributing. .

Take a look by your self before you post to insult us.
Huawei-Dev/android_kernel_samsung_exynos7420
Check when he has his last contribution and also check for which device.
Thank you for calling us ridiculous but we would appreciate to not post your insults.
And back to the point to make it clearer, He is recognized developer but the only actual developer on P9 forum who just drop semi working roms. And yes the 7.1.2 is a bugfest and far from working how it should.

Any news on the official Oreo update?
Also, I've been kinda connecting the dots. People were saying that the Oreo beta doesn't allow bootloader unlocking. What if that has to do with Huawei stopping the offering of BL unlock codes? That could mean that the stable version is set to release after that and us never being able to unlock the device on Oreo.

Android oreo is been tested on Chinese phones atm.
Bootloader locking is another case. You will get official updates with bootloader locked but no if you have customized firmware Why they do that is because Huawei have their only firmware and they are aware that many devices broke down by users trying to put custom firmware. After updating from custom firmware to official many times the device is missing very vital things. Also. As long you have a bootloader code i dont think it will affect you in the future. The main problem will be with new devices sold after a certain day

On one side users don't dare to research before they brick devices.
On the other side developers and communities behind (certain) custom ROMs do not dare to put clear info how to go back from their custom ROM to stock.
Generally it's easy, go first back to stock (use HWOTA, no-check Recovery or even HuRupdater) to the build one was before installing custom ROM (some users don't even remember which stock they previously had) and after that upgrade, rebrand, whatever.
But it's 'too complicated' for some, they think they can uupdate directly from custom to the latest stock, sometimes even forcing diff cust.
Some also think it will help if they first relock Bootloader - induced Factory reset fails but TWRP is gone and FRP relocked and there is no more system - then they start to cry...
All these things are written elswhere but many don't bother to read before they run themselves to the problems

I totally agree and it is so frustrating. At the same time its so frustrating to see just beggars begging for a custom OS when all of us know that to go under the hood and touch things its harder as the new roms getting more advanced. Especially with Huawei that chooses to make their own rom and advanced camera. All i see for the laat few months is people complaining about everything with Huawei. Dont take me wrong but if i wanted an easy customized device i wouldnt go buy Huawei in the first place. On the other hand i dont think i ever owned so amazing device. And yes for the amount of money you pay its an amazing device and that was the only reason to be convinced when i applied to work for them. Oh yes plus 5g technology :p

Register another finger, after the registration is successful, delete the fingerprint again.it's ok!
