AND OF COURSE TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS, DONATORS AND USERS

I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
A lot.

We have an OFFICIAL RR build, what is this?
This RR Build is for my personal use, and it was intended to be a private build before I saw RR official builds was stopped since several days.
So I decided to share this with my personal customizations just for fun. I consider it a stable and pretty to use build

Main differences respect the official builds are:
10.08.2018 build
  • updated RR source
  • Derp Kernel 2.0 (imho the best) - thanks to akhil
  • Mi A2 Camera
  • Fingerprint Camera Shot
17.08.2018 build
  • Derp Kernel 2.1
  • August security patch
  • Wifi Display -> needs to be tested
  • MIUI poweroff charging animation
  • power off alarm
17.08.2018 build
  • sync RRemix sources (latest oreo build)
  • new derp kernel (2.8)
  • updated device tree (xthermal v4 and other little improvements)

OTA support - I think I will build almost weekly an update. Changelog will be here

1st official builds aren't dead.
2nd Derp is a custom kernel which can be flashed on any rom.
3rd Mi A2 camera is also a flashable zip.

If you have something new to offer then I welcome you else do not waste your and our time in building using same sources, just to add two flashable zips.
Hope you understand what I'm saying.

Is it so hard for users to just flash kernel and camera that they have to download whole rom?

Official builds are not stopped the dev for oreo has slowed down with no changes hence a monthly

well sir I think you agree if I want to waste my time, and imho I respected your time because i wrote EXACTLY what I did. So you please don't waste your time here. Hope you understand

maybe RR is slow down but device tree is changed. and i use a different TC also, and i did some other minor changes that I consider less important to share with final users because they don't care

Anyway as I said it's my personal private build I wanted to share with the community. If no one cares about it i will delete this project. No problem at all :good:

There is nothing wrong with having unofficial builds. There are quite a number of unofficial builds of RR on mido, so why not Whyred?

You guys should please let the OP be. He hasn't done anything wrong.

I personally welcome the idea of having unofficial build of RR. On this unofficial RR, VoLTE works for me immediately after flashing the ROM, without the need to enable VoLTE via build.prop or via VoLTE enabler magisk module. But on the official version, I always have to enable VoLTE via build.prop or VoLTE enabler magisk module.

OP, please, keep the good work going. I'm currently using your ROM and I'm enjoying it. OP, do not be deterred or discouraged by the negative comments on this thread.

Please don't delete it. Some of us actually appreciate the effort. Good job

OP, I strongly urge you not to delete it. You've done a good job. Whyred Devs need to be encouraged, and not discouraged. Already, development is slowing down for Whyred simply because of the ARP brouhaha.

Again, this is not the time to discourage Whyred devs.

No one is forcing you to use the ROM. All you should have done was pass.
