Android Ice Cold Project

AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!

Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS we are now actually LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.

If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LineageOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LineageOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM zipfile.

It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.

I am NOT part of AICP, I'm just trying to maintain a LineageOS device tree for the Note4 and I happen to experiment with other ROMs.
The donations made with the link in the OP go to the AICP team, if you would like to donate money to me, you can't. But I happen to accept code (patches, bug fixes, improvements...) and even well written bug reports (with logcat dmesg and detailed steps how to reproduce the issues).

Leaving >here< a link to LineageOS paypal account just because it should be linked to every thread of every ROM that uses its code as base.

To be able to compile the kernel with linaro-7.3 toolchain you have to apply >this change< to the kernel.

Let's go test!

Tomorrow I will try this system, for a long time I wanted to install the version oreo on my note 4 but it always has sound problems, it is slow in games :( and there are other bugs :rolleyes: , I let you know how it is going :laugh:

I only yesterday installed RR Oreo, but it's awesome too have options, have always loved aicp since lollipop, have still kept their last LP BUILD. Soon I will try this also

I installed AICP O last night and just checked for you in star wars Commander I have the same sounds distortion as some of the other Oreo builds. I know I have had at least one Oreo build that did not have the sound distortion but I apologize this is the 4th Oreo build I have installed so I can not remember which.

Reporting in on a N910T just installed last night and experienced one reboot while my phone was installed my Google backup of apps.

Well, Of all the ones that I have tried, the kyubi is the best for games, but, I had to touch the kernel a bit because of overheating issues

I would love to find that build, the roms de oreo for me are the fastest, but anyway I will try to find that build :cowboy:

So far I really like this rom. I did have to reboot twice in the beginning to get the sim working but since then it has been a solid connection. No random reboots, camera, bluetooth, (device only) gps all seem to be working well, no complaints.:)

Thanks for the guides @_mone, you're always willing to share your knowledge and work. I started your guide on how to build lineage several hours ago and currently have a lineage rom building (fingers crossed). If I want to build this rom instead, is there any way to make use of the lineage source that's already synced to my laptop or is it necessary to have a separate folder for each different aosp rom? I don't know if I'm explaining my question very well, lol. anyway thanks for the rom.

Thanks a lot for the logs. You have to "repo init" each ROM in different folders.. lots of repos (between LineageOS and AICP) are the same but I'm not sure if it's possible what you want to do.. you'll have to modify the manifest.xml and manually (script) symlink the common repos. I don't know.. never thought about it and never tried.. so I have no idea if it's actually possible. I just have the whole source for each ROM.

    AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!

    Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
    With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS we are now actually LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.

    If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LineageOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LineageOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

    The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
    If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM zipfile.

    It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
    If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.

    @Apex Predator you need root permissions to be able to switch SELinux to permissive. "Gesture typing" seems to work now. Each build has a random bootanimation (see this commit), you can find the various bootanimations here.
