for windows https://www.easeus.com/partition-ma...-sd-card-using-windows-cmd-and-formatter.html How to Format SD Card Using SD Card Formatter Tool (Free version) works for my 64Gb sd. FAT32. other formatting methods work for flash drives no more than 32GB

I know HOW to format it - thanks though :D

But since all roms for this device say exFat isn't supported and and someone told me that Fat32 IS exFat I wanted to know which filesystem to format it with.

If Fat32 works fine however then I'm good - the 256 GB stick came formatted with Fat32, as did his smaller brother with 128 GB :) :good:

I would however prefer NTFS due to the support for bigger files ... will that work on this device with those roms?

Fat32 and exFat are different file systems. and now fat32 works here. how NTFS works in general in android and here in particular I do not know.

Thanks - someone told me Fat32 was the Windows version of exFat and that confused me lol

Maybe someone else knows if NTFS works ... due to the 4 GB filesize limitation of Fat32 I'd rather format it NTFS if possible :fingers-crossed:

NTFS works just fine.

Didn't work at all for me on stock. The device insisted there was an error with the drive and it had to format it.

Luckily I still had the contents in a folder on my PC so I let it format the USB stick and then copied everything back. My 128 GB stick with Fat32 caused no issues at all, but I want to use the larger one with this device.

But no, NTFS is definitely NOT working - at least not with a 256 GB stick. :(
