Won't Install on my Verizon One Max

Please upgrade your TWRP to latest version from #OP.

That certainly made the difference. Thank you sir!

I'd point out however, for those that need to do so, that I was running TWRP v3.0.2 and had to install each and every intermediate update (~6 IIRC) to get to the latest version of TWRP.

Now that I have the latest version of TWRP, I was able to install RR-7.02 successfully.

However, I get a boot time error "There is an internal problem with your device. Please contact the manufacturer." The phone appears to function okay. Both cellular data and WiFi work just fine (although WiFi seems a little slow).

I did download and install the su package from LineageOS, but didn't test it as I had other issues (see below).

Open-Gapps seems to be causing problems (no keyboard access once Open-Gapps is installed), but presumably that's not an RR issue.

I'd also (and this is an issue in RR-5.8 too) like to be able to disable RR-Stats. Nothing personal, but I don't like being forced to share information, especially when I can't opt out.

Due to the open Gapps issue, I'm restoring my RR Nougat for now. However, I'll come back to 7.02 and update the issues and benefits I encounter moving forward.

On the whole it looks pretty good on my t6vzw. Thanks for all your hard work TARKZiM!

I installed this on my Verizon One Max over the weekend. Using the very latest TWRP, after full wipe and repeat, flashed ROM, Gapps (remember people, it's ARM not ARM64) and Magisk and device boots fine (after the warning described above). Haven't installed my SIM, but at least on wifi and BT everything seems to be working fine. It's like this device got a new lease on life.

Only downside is that I'm going to have to copy across the 200mg microsdcard and format a new card for the device before copying data back, but otherwise, I'm delighted that this ancient device is now running Pie.

Great job @tarkzim!

[UPDATE 9/17/19]
In the course of setting up the device (i.e. signing into various applications), I bounce back and forth between a password manager and the various apps as I set them up. I found SystemUI crashing and burning often. I went into Developer Options and reduced background processes to 4 and it seems to be smoother. I think asking the old silicon to do the tricks of new ROMs has to be a challenge for this device, and perhaps having multiple apps running in background is not ideal. Since I have done that things seem to be smoother. It's possible that later this can be tweaked with options in each app, but at least during setup, this seems to work better.

yes I found it I did a damage though because I did a recovery flash from inside the operating system as being super user with the recovery tulle allows to flash from within Android I flashed the last twrp image for the HTC One Max t6 Universal phone the flash went well but now if I reboot the phone no longer goes into the bootloader and I no longer even have the recovery I am now forced to reinstall it via PC

What? You flashed recovery WHILE in the System? How the heck did you do that?

now I have connected the phone to the PC then with minimal adb and fastboot I flashato recovery correctly, then I made a full wipe of all the partitions and reinstalled android 8.1 which I think is much more reactive than the version 9. Now it seems to work all right as originally ... Question !! I believe that on my htc one max 2gb 16gb the optical stabilizer is broken because if I make a focus at about 5cm it makes a strange noise and does not focus. The problem does not depend on the rom we did even before, there is a way to fix it without changing anything ??

    Good News!

Here is a breaking news for One Max, i've successfully made Fingerprint Sensor working on our device running custom rom, but it's a bit tricky now.
I can enroll up to 3 fingers without problem and recognize them in Fingerprint setup page, but Lockscreen still not calling fingerprint so we can't actually use fingers to unlock our phone.
luckily we can still make fingerprint sensor to work with apps.

and a simple video that shows how it operate:

    YOUTUBE VIDEO

for now, you should give it some time to trigger the fingerprint enroll/verify process, it's a little bit delayed but all fine.
