I just saw in the Carbon 7 changelog that the Lockscreen Quick PIN unlock feature was removed from CarbonFibers......Is there a reason why this feature was removed from CarbonRom 7?

Rom feels slower than other 9.0 ones but im ok with that since battery life is better. Although the mobile network standby battery drain is still present. I am using this modem/radio firmware bacon_firmware_update_2016_1-25_.4.0.1.c7-00011.zip
Which one do you recommend to fix this problem?
No cusom kernel, openggaps pico.

I'm personally on c7 too. Make sure you're in a good reception area, as low reception is one of the main causes of this issue. If that's the case, maybe try turning off 'mobile data always on' from developer options?

Done that. Its a software/firmware bug. Even without sim cars it still drains battery. It sucks.

Hey, I can't figure out how to install the gapps.
I tried many variants and to wipe cache/dalvick or not but every time, the os remains stuck on the boot animation.
It's not my first time installing custom rom on my phone so I probably be forgetting something very basic but I can't figure out what...
Also, I tried installing lineageos and then installing gapps and I have the same issue...
Thanks for your help

edit : Seems like an issue with the openGapps. I used an older version of the package and it worked fine

Camera not working

Hello.

I had CR7 of Oct 2019 on my Bacon which had the issue of all cameras not working on my phone. Yesterday I updated to the 20200720 version of this ROM, but the camera issue is still there?

I couldn't find this being mentioned in this thread, so this is an isolated problem with my phone, it seems? Any hint what the reason might be?

Thanks

Any if you guys able to connect to Smart TV via Wireless Display? I'm using latest build. My TV is LG UM72. Phone detects the tv, when selected, tv prompt for confirmation. I press Accept, then TV screen goes dark as if trying to connect, then just display error unable to connect. My 6T able to connect without issue.

Turn out it was android issue. Google dropped wifi display for Pie and above probably to boost their Chromecast sale. Tried multiple Q rom and none of them have wifi display working. Now I'm using LOS 15.1 and it works flawlessly.

In >this< post you have information that Miracast works in Pie ROM.
You will find a second ROM when you search my posts with the word "miracast".

Thanks. I tried the first rom you suggested and yes Miracast in Pie is working. Sadly it is an old build (20190701) and the dev mentioned that he would not update it anymore to focus on Android 10 build, which doesn't have Miracast working yet.

So I went and try the second rom you suggested and yes it is working too. Now I'm using that build since it is quite latest too(20200722). Hopefully the dev will keep maintaining it, at least until Android 10 have working Miracast.

Huge thanks to the CarbonROM team as a whole for being awesome.
Also to @Agent_fabulous as I took his trees as a base.

    Known bugs as of now:
    1. App crashes on taking a photo while recording.
    2. Wifi Display is not working.

Other than that, you tell me :)

Please report any bug you find on a proper way.

Guys, sorry I was busy for a while. I had exams going, so I wasn't active on the forums. However, I have addressed the issues and we are looking into it.
As far as posts for updates goes, I haven't put up any since there were no device-side changes. Whenever there is a significant bug fix or optimisation regarding our device, expect a post from me. Otherwise, the weekly addresses the rom-side changes and bug-fixes, and all the changelog can be found here.
There was one significant update with the kernel with the sultan optimizations, I didn't mention, as I wanted to see if you guys felt any difference, and I didn't want it to be a placebo. So there are CPU based optimizations to make the touch feel smoother and also make it a little bit better for the battery too.
Hope this finds you well. Thanks for your support guys. :)

Feel free to post any bug you find on a proper way:
    1. Build you are running
    2. Mods you are using: music mods, magisk, whatever.
    3. How to reproduce it.
    4. Logcat, ksmeg... if applicable.

I would like this thread to be an example of a development thread so please:
    1. Be respectful with each other.
    2. READ a couple of times the OP before posting. If there is anything that is not in the op and should be there just let me know.
    3. Search before posting, maybe your question is already answered.
    4. Features request are allowed, but it doesn't mean I will fulfil all of them. And they are not the reason behind this thread.

That's all for now. Enjoy CarbonRom :)
