If you face this problem on all roms, then my friend, miui is calling you. Flash memeui and then come to customs. Hopefully volte works. If it doesn't, then stick to memeui forever.
this was the 1st time i faced both this isssue (after flashing this rom). I have had been using los 14.1 for quite some time and then updated & using los 15.1 from january. volte, camera etc all are working perfectly fine, just wanted to switch to pie

Yeah I was talking about the same build
yup, when i didnt see default camera app installed, i clean flashed the same build again, but that didnt helped. :(

Flash miui fastboot rom and flash custom rom again. That should most of fix the issues. It fixed volte issues for me as suggested by someone. Custom roms community always helps u and saves u from ad filled miui ;)
I mostly think the issue is with this rom as i reverted back to the los 15.1 and there volte is working fine.
Agreed with you, xda community is great always helping each other. some by developing, some by testing and some by supporting :good:

Aw man that sucks, don't know why some roms don't work properly on the same device models. Anyways, do whatever you do but don't flash miui, that rom is disgusting.

Enabling smart pixel (12% pixel value) essentially soft-bricks your phone. touch input stops working, and it only accepts hardware buttons (side ones)

had to re-flash the rom.

anyone else suffer from this issue?

@aragorn12
some issues :
1. cannot uninstall default apps like browser, music player, file manager, etc.
2. cannot force network activity notification to display constantly in the statusbar. IT KEEPS GOING AWAY, ESPECIALLY WHILE INTERNET IS BEING USED. WHY? i just want it to show PERMANENTLY.
3. how to set default handlers? i want to use my own file explorer, not the broken POS that is the default file manager.
4. how to disable "Android Setup" (look at the attachment)

what is the point of rooting my phone and slapping on a custom rom (allegedly one of the most customizable) if cannot make it EXACTLY like i want to make it?
i've just exchanged one prison for another.

oh buddy, just relax, you have rooted and installed a custom rom but you are not well versed with playing such custom roms.. let me walk you through..

I guess by rooting you flashed twrp or any recovery.. right.? now go through this:

1. You can uninstall any system app, just note the package name or its name, boot into twrp, mount system, then browse to system/apps or system/pri-apps and delete the folder of particular app accordingly.

2. Network activity displays permanently on the status bar, but it's designed to disappear when more icons fill up the status bar. it's not a bug.

3. Boot into twrp, mount system, open file manager in twrp and browse to system/priv-app or system/app and find file manager, open the folder and delete the apk.. Copy any other downloaded file manager of your choise and copy paste it in that folder. Set permissions of new pasted apk to rw-r-r.. Or simply delete the whole file manager folder and install any file Manger from play store. simple.

4. Its android pie flavour you are enjoying, so just long press the android setup notification and disable the notification permanently.. or just long press and touch the circled 'i' button and disable the app..

EDIT: if Twrp makes you dizzy, then just flash magisk, to gain root access of ofcourse.. Then go to play store and install any system app remover and uninstall the system apps like file manager.. Do grant root access to the system app remover before you say system apps are not getting uninstalled..

thanks!
phone is rooted already.
i used Titanium backup to back up everything and delete the stuff that i dont want.
I've deleted Android Setup 1.0.233... and Android Setup 228.497... to remove the blue notification.
your point 4 : WOW did not know that was a thing! thanks for sharing!
your point 3 : ok i will try this. getting sick and tired of dealing with the default apps
your point 2 : but i want the display to be permanent... let it take up the entire space but the network usage MUST display at ALL TIMES. cant i set the priority of notifications somewhere?

i want to edit the source of this rom. so i should just head over to github and fork the code, right? i found this site https://source.android.com/setup , does the RR rom deviate a lot from AOSP?

Can any one provide DocumentsUI.apk i.e. file manager by copying it from system/privapps folder...anyone with twrp can mount system and then can copy it using twrp's file manager. Pls help, I've replaced mine with another apk, and it's not working.
