Thank you so much for the guide. This is really helpful. I will try this out tomorrow.

I will be using the OrangeFox-R10.0-1-Stable-rosy [24-06-2019]. I hope this is the stable version.

Can you also help in understanding at what point and how do I have to install Magisk (which version?).
Install the latest Magisk Manager V - 20.0
You can flash this right after flashing the ROM or after you setup your device, it doesn't really matter.
I used a unofficial custom TWRP recovery, because the official recovery couldn't flash it, i got some errors.

Thank you so much. I have installed the ADB and Fastboot drivers to my PC.

So just to reiterate.

I will be following steps:

1. Unlock bootloader using Mi Flash Toolkit
2. Install TWRP 3.3.1.1 rosy by xDoge (I assume this has Treble Support) using fastboot and command prompt through PC. (Do I need to keep this file on the internal storage as well?)
3. Install Orangefox R10.0-1-Stable-rosy.zip through TWRP
4. Wipe everything and install the custom rom
5. Install Magisk v20.zip through orangefox

I there anything else I have to do? Please let me know if I am missing a step.

And do I need an external SD card for this installation. Will I be able to copy/paste the Orangefox recovery and ROM file on internal SD?

You are doing everything fine.
I don't think you may need Orangefox recovery even i used TWRP by xDoge, it works fine then it's left to you which recovery you choose, if it works, then well and good...
You need not keep it in both internal storage and SD-card both, remember if you are using internal storage then don't wipe internal storage.

Just like Shashank said, don't wipe internal storage if you are gonna keep the rom and recovery there. Also, orangefox recovery was just a suggestion from my side as it looks a little better than twrp and you dont have to find a specific version for treble support as you need to do with twrp.
Cheers

I used a unofficial custom TWRP recovery, because the official recovery couldn't flash it, i got some errors.
those errors were that it couldnt mount the /vendor partition needed for magisk to install. Official twrp has removed support for that and you need to search for unofficial versions to get treble support. Thats why i suggested him to go with orangefox after flashing the rom :D

Soon we are going to end this wonderful journey of 10 months and we will again start from 0 with the next step Android version #ten.

Inb4 that lemme tell share a small stats of what we achieved in this journey.

- 100k overall views making it the most viewed thread in rosy development section.

- 1.3k posts in the total journey making it again the most active rosy thread.

- Starting from 10 downloads in week for first build to 1k downloads in a week for the last released builds, Again a big milestone.

- Overall of 67K downloads making a average of 6.7 K downloads per month, And again a milestone around rosy development section.

- The constant improvements of the rom with 25+ released builds. It's again a cool thing.

is there a way to set the dark bootanimation as the default? the white one is so blinding but I don't want to enable system wide dark mode just to change bootanimation.

edit: i changed it by swapping the names of the two bootanimation zips. it works but i hope it doesn't break ota update.

Nice Rom

Thank you Dev for this awesome rom . It is running butterly smooth. But I'm facing some issues and may be already mentioned by other users in this thread. I hope there are fixes for them. 1st is the incall volume control whether using earphone or not , I am unable to decrease the call volume , slider goes down but the sound level remains at full. Then another issue is related with camera. When i click snaps in stock cam , I click on pic to see it in the camera app but it does not open or stay at the clicked pics. It automatically goes to the old pics. Another issue is device is not certified so unable to use gpay, hope there is any fix, but its ok if not. Anyways thank you again for pe rom for rosy. And wish u best of luck for the new builds android 10 for our device

Camera

Have been facing this issue thinking it will go away but didn't. Its related to camera. The stock camera sometimes doesn't saved the clicked pictures, checked by camera roll and through Files\Images. Have been wanting to use Gcam but it had the breathing issue so following a user, I flashed Retro kernel but now no apk get installed. It just gives me the message that app was not installed. What to do?

I don't use the stock camera instead i use Gcam-6.2 works fine.. but in stock camera i didn't face any issue, it saved all my photos. Well if after flashing the Retro kernel you are facing that issue then why don't you use the stock kernel which came with the ROM ?

In stock kernel, all Gcams have breathing issue or shutter button is frozen. Perhaps I'll try Wolf kernel. anyway, how to flash the stock kernel back? dirty flash the ROM?

Before flashing wolf just backup boot partition in twrp, flash it back to get stock kernel back !

Or for stock kernel find the rom zip, extract it and flash boot.img

Please be clear with what you are asking and be polite. If you consider this a bug or something that needs to be fixed by the developer let him know using the official channel.

Also, I don't use the radio, so I'm not sure what are you talking about.
