Is it possible 8.1 reads the battery charge differently than 9 and 10?

I am sure it is because of this. What I have observed is that, if I put my device in airplane mode for a few hours starting at around 80% charge, it ends up with 70% after 6 hours - and when I take it out of airplane mode to use it, it shuts down immediately. But, if I keep using the device, it works fine all they way down to 10% at least.

If I turn on the phone after the sudden shutdown, it is still at 50% charge sometimes, and at around 30% sometimes too. But it is nowhere near the 60-70% which it was before the shutdown.

I think the battery is being read worng when the device is sleeping and a sudden drop in charge triggers the shutdown.

And it is possible that changing the battery is somehow resetting or fixing this behaviour of reading battery stats. Which would mean loads of people are unnecessarily changing their batteries :)

I'm getting a new battery shortly.. will test the old one once I have replaced it.

I updated today from Pie July version to Pie Plus December version. Since then, I cannot write on my root drive. I even uninstalled and reinstalled magisk. Any advice?

format data in recovery is done, still stuck logo google, built in kernel original, because kernel franco cant'n flash in this rom PE 9.0
Ya I know that, you said you flashed the Franco kernel which is not compatible with this software. If you followed all the steps in the OP correctly you just need to be patient. My first boot on this rom took about 10-15 minutes on the G logo boot screen

If I'm not mistaken it sounds like you are not using the correct TWRP. You have to use the FBE TWRP provided by the OP

Hi guys.
Like many of you, I had problems with the December (camera doesn't work) and January (lock screen and router issues) PE builds for our dear angler. After much searching for the November build, a fellow made the file available to me.

/vendor as read/write

One way this ROM departs from the stock ROMs is mounting /vendor as squashfs read-only. Does anyone know how to mount /vendor as read/write in PixelExperience?

    Installation Instructions:
    • Grab our recovery from the peripherals section and install it.
      Through TWRP Recovery:
Install Zip > Install Image > Choose ‘recovery.img‘ > Select partition ‘Recovery’ > Swipe to confirm flash
      Through Fastboot:
      Code:
      fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
    • Install the ROM and then wipe your internal data partition.
      Through TWRP Recovery:
      Wipe > Format data
      Through Fastboot:
      Code:
      fastboot -w
    • Reboot into system and wait until the process finishes, it could take a little bit. After the installation is done, I suggest waiting before using the phone because it usually goes into thermal throttling after installing a ROM.
