Probably not. But everything else (performance, stability) is very close to MIUI. With 2 advantages (for me):
1 - no messed up UI with 1 (2, 3...) confirmation dialogs to get somewhere (and it's always more difficult to get somewhere because I never know very well where things are in settings)
2 (actually, 1.a) - much simpler SIM management, I just have to enable/disable sim card, without having to choose the second sim card to be the default data card, so I can disable the first card... after a confirmation dialog, of course. Doing this once is fine. Doing this several times a day makes me start wanting to do bad things to my phone and I don't want to do that because I love it!

Flash latest bootlickers rom with October patch and then you can switch to derp
Don't dirty flash it (it probably wouldn't boot anyway).Just make a backup and then restore it after installing the ROM. I prefer google backup between different ROMS because I can chose which apps to restore right on initial setup.
IMO Derpfest is better because it's more developed. Everything works ( except FOD wakeup, but I'm probably guilty of that because I reversed to Okita kernel 8.2 which has the best balance between performance and battery life for me). Bootleggers has some interesting built-in features: buffer fix for camera (which is good for GCam and bad for ANX), some tweaks for audio, loads of customization options. But it's missing basic things like a proper SIM management, which for me is a deal breaker. You can also notice a difference (for worse) in performance, at least with stock kernel. But maybe you get some more juice on the battery side, I don't know. I have to charge my phone everyday, using Kowalski or Okita kernel, so I prefer Okita, which is built-in in Derpfest

I don't think so, but you have to confirm that with the developer.
unreleased ROM ? I can't see it on XDA or even GitHub (about grus-specific device tree for bootleggers)
Be aware with ANY closed-source build, we can't see what's going on inside of it so nobody knows if the creator put a some sort of spyware/adware etc (like xiaomi did on miui)

I flashed vendor-V10.3.4.0.PFBEUXM-grus.img from the link in post #34 and then the actual ROM with AOSiP-9.0-DerpFest-EOL-grus-20191021.zip.
Running latest twrp-3.3.1-11-Mi9SE by redispade.
