I repeated now the install just to make sure:
Formating 2 different sd cards as external storage worked perfectly.
As soon I format the 2 different SD cards (that both work with Lineage) as INTERNAL STORAGE, the format goes to 40 % and then aborts.
Then, I installed Lineage OS again on the phone and the 2 SD cards were not usable anymore on Lineage as well (before, both cards worked on Lineage)
First, I thought the SD cards are ruinedby Omnirom but checking them with the disk management tool of windows 7 I saw, that both Samsung and Sandisk had 2 partitions, a 15 mb one and 113 MB
I removed the partitions on the sd cards and both cards are working again with Lineage OS
So, I think here is s. th. seriously wrong with formatting them as internal storage, maybe, it has to do with the encryption...
Luckily I have a 2 extra Moto z for testing this, so i did not have to mess around with my productive one.

I still don't see any logs in your bug report. How am i supposed to help you ?

But it has very low sound level (speaker & headphones) Is there any solution?

O.k I see the point. Once I have my third Moto Z back (I gave it to a friend), I will check for bugs systematically. I should be able to do this because I am a scientist .
What I need to know is :
- How do I switch on logging?
- Where are the logs stored?
- Which log file do you need?
I hope, we can then find the reason for that strange sd card behavior. My only question is, if I am the only one that is using encryption and an sd card as internal memory?

Easy way, open incuded MatLog app, click on three dot menu -> save zip. This will generate all the logs i need.

Formatting sd-card as "internal storage" not possible on Moto Z
-formatting as external storage works
- when formatting it as internal storage, it aborts, after this, you cannot open the "storage app" anymore. On the sd card, there is now a 16 MB and a 119,07 GB partition (see attached image)
- after removing the sd card "storage app can be used again (does not quit anymore when try to open)
- after removing the2 partitions on the sd card, it can be used again in the phose but ONLY AS EXTERNAL storage.
-as soon you try to format it as "internal storage, the same procedure happens again
- I have 3 Moto Z. It happens with all of them
- I have 3 sd cargs (Samsung EVO128, Samsung EVO64, Sandisk Extreme plus, it happens with all of them
- Under Lineage 16 all this is fine on all 3 phones with all 3 sd cards
- so, it is definitely a bug with the Omnirom image for the Moto Z

How can I use OmniRom as a vendor for installing GSI+OpenGapps? I flash the zip with the ROM, GSI, Magisk but failed to flash OpenGapps for Android 9 with the error code 20. OpenGapps Installer says that I should download a package for Android 7. I tried the erfanoabdi`s version of TWRP and the latest oficial TWRP with the same result. With LOS as a vendor OpenGaps installs without this problem. What should I do to use OmniRom as a vendor for installing GSI and OpenGapps?

Why does encryption take much longer on Lineage 16 than on Omnirom? With Omnirom, after you press "encrypt phone, the phone restarts and is immediately encrypted. On LOS16, this process takes at least 15 minutes.
What is the reason for this difference?

Looks like I am not the only one having that problem with the "formatting sd as internal memory"

So why is no one confirming this issue here. I asked for a while....
I think, that it is a very important thing, that is not working and s..o. should already have discovered it right? Its not s. th. like Emojis are not working

If you try to format a micro sd card as an internal memory, the memory app crashes with the following error message:

attempt to invoke virtual
method 'java.lang.String
android.os.storage.VolumeInfo.getID()' on a
null object reference"

in short, exactly the same issue. I encrypted the phone again after formatting failed.
