I've installed a custom kernel over another one without installing the rom first twice, and both gave a bugged behavior so I try to remember to always install the rom first.

My test of the battery depleting are done.
I've tested the kernels PureCAF X1 EAS and IceCold r4.2 , because the I/O schedulers list of PureCaf is too poor.
If the battery started to deplete much sooner than with KangarooX 4.4, it started abnormally late and slowly.
The Antutu Stress test normally draws about 10% of the battery, but it drawed only up to 3% with both kernels.
As the delay before the battery start to deplete vary from a few minutes to a few hours with KangarooX.

I still don't know what this bug from from, perhaps one of my apps because I had an Automate flow that only monitored the WIFI, but it make the WIFI to enabled automatically, an unexpected behavior that could exists on the battery level too, as I have two apps that monitor it.

Finally, I'm back to a full Pie setup. It prevents to limit the battery charge but it reports the real charge level, in more of allowing to install the last version of the kernels instead of being stuck to a prehistoric one

Have u tried desert eagle latest or maybe purecaf x12? They support oreo fw.. Even i can't tell what's causing the battery % problem.. Automate shld not be the problem imo.. Best of luck for the pie fw setup tho?

I've switched to a full Pie setup and I'm a bit too lazy to try again another mix Oreo/Pie because the only flaw with my actual setup is the battery charge that can't be stop by any app. All the rest works perfectly, with performance, smoothness and a long enough battery life.
I only hesitate between the versions OC and nonOC of KangarooX r5.3 but as I don't need the extra performance provided by the OC version, I'll probably keep the nonOC.

Even i can't tell what's causing the battery % problem.. Automate shld not be the problem imo..

Automate can't be the culprit this time because none of my actual flows monitor the battery but I have no clue which of my many apps could interfere with the battery level.
I don't bother any more about it, as I plan to keep my actual Pie setup until the next version of Havoc pops up with Android 10.

Yeah bro i feel you, clean flash is a lot of work lol, ig stable havoc 3.0 will still take a month or 2

Desert Eagle did not stop charging last time I tried (on O). I'm on KangX now, but I think I remember PureCAF stopping it just fine.

Maybe my battery needs to be calibrated.
My main reason to stay on Pie has just vanished... I gonna test PureCAF x12...

EDIT - result:
PureCaf X12 EAS doesn't have the I/O scheduler mapple but it has anxiety which is pretty good too.
China 10.3.4 8.1 - PureCAF X12 EAS - anxiety - 125.2K
I gonna try to calibrate again my battery with this setup. Off course, it gonna take some time because it implied to charge to 100%, discharge down to 0% then charge to 100% again.

I am getting a completely horizontal battery line overnight on Oreo, sometimes maybe 1% drop. Like old-times Nokias...

Desert Eagle did not stop charging last time I tried (on O). I'm on KangX now, but I think I remember PureCAF stopping it just fine.

I don't really use smart charging so can't say on that, altho i do know this, purecaf x12 isn't compatible with FDE.AI recent versions, drains battery to 0% even while switched off lol

I always drain my battery to 0% then charge to 100%,whenever switching kernels maybe thats why calibration stays fine, n maybe that's why i dont need to flash stock rom first before flashing kernel

I have been using this ROM since long and is always super smooth, after installing various versions of it by dirty flashing now scrolling on the ROM is not that smooth as it was before.

I clean flashed to latest version but still scrolling has not improved in apps, any solutions ?

I've charged my phone to 100% then I've used Battery Calibration, discharged down to 0% then charged to 100% again, and my battery looks properly calibrated now.

If u want Overclock, flash kangaroo X, if u want better battery, flash purecaf eas... also dwld china fw stable pie from. xiaomifirmwareupdater.com if u want, not really needed as such

Glad to hear it, I kinda switched my setup a bit too, china fw oreo 9.6.4(the miui 9 one lol) n purecaf latte, phone somehow feels smoother than before

Thanks for sharing, and i always following what have you done. But i faced slow charging. Its only around 850 mah- 1200 mah. But before in kangaroo 5.3 non oc , i got 1700 mah. How to get fast charge on kangaroo r.4.4 eas non uc, fimrware 10.3.4 and latest havoc.?

- installed a pie firmware
- installed the rom
- installed the oreo firmware
- installed the new custom kernel
my charge current went back to normal, about 1700 mA.

You can also try to force the fast charge through SmartPack Kernel Manager.

This has always been useless with Havoc. Installing once after the first install of Havoc is enough.

Magisk had to be installed after each install of Havoc but the last versions includes it so this became useless too.

Issue with the call recording:
The recording stops when we exit during the call navigate to any other apps, etc.
Happens everytime, I press home button do some work and when i go back to call the recording starts from 0sec

After flashing the pie fw and pie fw based rom, you flashed oreo fw? Does it boot? Im on Havoc 2.5 but because of some issues on pie fw, Im stucked at oreo fw
