Sir, I hope that the next version can restore the default size of DPI, and I don't know if it is my charging device problem or other reasons. I can't charge it very slowly when I charge it, but when I switch back to RR, his charging speed will return to normal. , so I don't think it's a problem with my charging device.

Compared to the other P roms out there, this one works smoothly. but I'm facing some weird problems. whatever the charger I connect, it always shows "charging rapidly" and the device gets heated badly while charging. that thing is not obviously good for the battery. and another thing, the lock screen music visualize cannot be disabled.
EDIT: I somehow managed to turn off music visualize.

Yes, I have the same problem. I have changed the charging device for this, but the charging speed has not improved. I have to change back to RR.

Can confirm that. The ROM works quite well out of the box. However, heating is not only an issue when loading. Even at minimal brightness the CPU and the battery get hot quite fast. Of course, this impacts battery lifetime (I monitored the behavior and adjusted CPU frequency and governor but problem stays).
Anyway, great to see updates for Z2. Hope these problems can be solved in future releases.

same question. preferably the upstream kernel with all those recent built-in ARM related improvements.

Definitely not. Even with kernel 3.10 we had a whole lot of trouble and was not worth the effort. Anything beyond that is pretty much impossible.

Maybe the kernel can be upstreamed to the latest 3.4 release (minor version changes) but that would bring little to no changes, so that is not a priority for me.

even on a years scale? and what if somebody will do it for you - will it be possible to maintain it?

You don't understand...it's impossible without Sony going nuts and releasing their stock sources (which they will never do). They had the Open Devices project which used crippled blobs for the camera and open source HALs working with 3.10, but that wasn't useable for anyone.

If you have ever seen devices with major upstreamed kernels it's because:
A) they don't have Sony's DRM BS.
B) they have open source HALs for most of the hardware, especially the camera.

These two things will never change for Sony msm8974 and so we will forever be with 3.4.

Thanks to devs for this magnificient efforts. This rom runs smoothly compairing other beta Pie roms but not stable as AOSP Extended rom, yet. This rom has a battery drain problem and front camera doesn't take any picture and video just like other pie beta roms. And it is also lack of many connected device methods like (NFC, Chromecast, etc.). But anyway I hope it will be fixed soon. Good job :)

    Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
    4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
    5) Join our Telegram group and channel! We will be posting major announcements on the channel and you can reach the devs and other users quickly through the group. The invite link is right below as well.
    5) Please keep bug reports to this thread or Discord. Do NOT create a Jira ticket. This is still in early development so we don't accept any bug reports yet.

New update is up! Download link is in the first post and changelog in the second.

Sorry for the long hiatus. Ideally I would have wanted to fix the camera issue before releasing a new build, which is what I was trying to do. Unfortunately, I have not made any progress in that regard, which is why I wanted to release a quick update for y'all. This build mostly fixes the broken NFC in the initial build, adds a lot of upstream Carbon features, and improves battery life and performance. Here's a screenshot of my standby with Google sync, Wi-Fi an d BT on throughout.
