what is the difference between AOKP & KangVIP?

KangVip rom is a modified cn stock rom that has root and other additional functions like change row and column at will.. AOKP rom is closer to the pure android rom.

If you want to flash the custom ROM you need to factory reset your phone using the stock recovery. After that you need to boot into bootloader right away to flash the twrp.img and then boot into twrp again right away so that the partition has not been encrypted. The you need to flash the Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_ zip, then you can flash the rom. If you do not follow these step you only see the boot screen of twrp. If you have a copy of the 9.1.0.335 recovery ramdis then you can reflash the stock recovery to factory reset the phone again if you cannot boot twrp before the stock rom boot. Look in this thread for instruction to flash custom rom.
