[ROM][9.0][UNOFFICIAL] [G800F/M/Y] crDroid 5.12 (P) [2020-12-23]

I tried to look on this thread but no info I've found about camera. I tried to took a video but it crashes, with standard app or using open camera. So is it not possible to use camera with Pie or something goes wrong with my phone?

I tryed now and the camera app is crashing on makeing video also on my device. For the photo is working good.


There is another problem: the automatic switching from 4G to 2G on the switching off of the screen is makeing the phone like without network, there is the network signal but if somebody try to call me is saeing "not possible to call because the number is offline". This problem is only if i check the automatic 4G-2G switching, otherwise is working good.

Realy? On my device the 4G is working good, only this automatic switching 4G-2G it has some problems (but it's a problem of the rom i think)

I'm sorry NFC is not working anymore with Pie-based ROMs.

I don't know about the issue with loosing connectivity (2G). But the s5 Mini isn't really a 4G capable phone. 4G requires LTE-Advanced and the s5 mini is LTE (LTE-Cat4): but not LTE-Advanced (>LTE-Cat6)...

Guys, that is not true what you say about 4G Capability of the kminiLTE. It CAN do 4G connections like a charm BUT only if the providers net, the phone is connected to, has enough free resources to use it and the signal is strong enough. Otherwise the phone drops to 2G/3G itself. That is my experience for years now.

About crDroid > v5.7 : the alternative crDroid Home App is full of bugs, has a memory leakage in it and drains battery completely within hours. Beside this the new Home App needs Location and Telephony Permissions.

My advice : do NOT use the new crDroid Home App introduced in crDroid v5.8. In fact it is buggy, drains battery and I suppose, there is a backdoor in it.

I am running v5.7 for now again, until I found an alternative for the crDroid Home App to use.

My advice : do NOT use the new crDroid Home App introduced in crDroid v5.8. In fact it is buggy, drains battery and I suppose, there is a backdoor in it.

I agree somehow, It's kind of suspicious that it is running bug report service even if you disable that and automatic updates and so on but a backdoor I don't think so. Nevertheless I also think it's draining battery and I completely disabled it by switching to Openlauncher, removing all permission, and switching to Recent style switcher 'aosp'.

What is the current modem driver you use ?

The latest modem driver for the sm-g800f is 'XXX-G800FXXU1CRG3' (where XXX stands for the provider)

Kind of you, Ghost, but unfortunately I installed this version one year ago. So I'm using the last one.

1. In settings: Apps & notifications > (See all x apps) > 'some app' > Storage > Clear cache
2. you mean icon style? No idea sorry.

I would say so, I don't hear any echo. However, I had an issue with the proximity sensor(?), switching speaker during phone calls on and off.

I patched some things: widevine should work now (for drm) and fingerprint (should consume less battery)
since I had another disc fail, I lost patch that should have fixed antenna gps. tell me if it stopped working (as expected)...

thanks for the update, question: i install this rom now if i want to update later i have to wipe all over again or i can just flash the rom wipe cache and will update?
