Is there a chance, that the camera and encryption error will be fixed soon?

What about LineageOS 17 and 18 are they being developed?

After a little bit of testing and using the my new flashed S5 mini, I had a lot of battery consumption, even in standby. Is it normal or did I a big mistake in configuration?

Kind regards
I have the same problem. A new battery did not solve it. Sometimes the device even gets REALLY hot while draining the battery, just as if the CPU frequency governor goes mad and simply lets it run at maximum performance all the time.

Same issue - I thought running LOS 16.1 might simply cost more energy than marshmallow- might be a very noob idea.

Your new patch (18/10/2021) has a bug. I installed it on my SM-G800F and when setting it up, looking for updates, it searches for a long time despite the correct WiFi password. Either it's LineageOS, Gapps, or My Device.

Hi, recently I discovered your builds. Great! As far as I see the latest AICP- ROM you made seems the smoothest and less batterydraining on my device. Are there any chances you'll make an update or is that too difficult in comparision to LOS? Thank you!

When using the CovPass app, it is not possible to scan a QR code. The camera is slow and glitchy.

On the other hand, scanning the QR code of a vaccination certificate using the Corona-Warn-App worked. So it might be an issue with the CovPass app.

Anyways, I attached a log file. Maybe it's something obvious.

Hey - thanks for the build and the regular updates.
I have been using it on my phone since a while now - but I have really problems with battery drainage. I barely make it through the day and only if the phone is just lying around. But drainage happens no matter if in standby or me using the phone. Largest consumer is mobile standby (~15% usually) in the list of battery consumers of the systems settings. I use a SM-G800F phone and I replaced the old battery (no difference to the old one actually). Since other users experience similar problems - is there any chance you may look into that problem? I am willing to help where I can.

To troubleshoot the battery drain, you can do the following:
- activate aeroplane mode over night and see if it stops the battery drain.
- if yes: go to settings - Network and Internet - Mobile Network - Preferred network type and choose 2G. Again, let it sleep over night and see if the battery drain occurs.

If the battery drain only occurs when the preferred network type is set to 3G or LTE, you can think about leaving the option set to 2G and only switch manually to LTE when needed. Of course this is only viable if you don't need highspeed internet all the time. For Whatsapp and background activity of apps, 2G is enough.

This rom has a camera problem. It mostly crashes. Tried to fix it with several methods, no chance.
Sometime it works, mostly the camera crashes. I can not recommend a rom where the camera is not working. On Android 7.1 with diferent roms ,i had no cam problem.
I went back to stock rom. All is fine again.
The developer seems not to be insterested too fix it.
I cannot understand your displeasure. Here you get a ROM, which is supplied almost monthly with current security updates, for a seven-year-old smartphone. No stock-ROM can do that, especially for free.

Thanks SethGeckoXDA for the super fast reply. I tried what you said - regarding the airplane mode I have tested it before and that effectively prevents battery drain (~80% battery left after a day without much usage) thus I would assume the drainage is caused by any of the connections to the outside - Wifi, Bluetooth, mobile service, you name it. Today I set the phone to 2G only but that did not help. Tonight the phone is pretty much dead (2% battery left). Again I would be happy to help, as it is currently the only phone that I own and is working.

If you have not done it already, you can now try turning off all other services (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, ...) to determine if only the mobile network service is actually the culprit.

If mobile network is responsible for most of the battery drain, it can either be
    - a bug in the firmware or LOS keeping the device busy.
    - or a wakelock caused by one of your installed apps.

If you don't mind putting in some work and doing clean flashes, you can try:
    (1) installing only LineageOS (clean flash),
    (2) then installing LineageOS + GApps (clean flash)
    (3) and finally LineageOS + GApps + your usual apps (clean flash + install your apps one by one to determine the culprit).

In all of the three installs, let the phone rest for some time with mobile network enabled and see if the battery drain occurs.

If the battery drain happens in case (1), it obviously is a bug in either the firmware or LOS.
If the battery drain occurs in (2), you could try another version of GApps (OpenGApps, mindTheGApps, ...)
If it happens in (3), either remove or properly configure the apps which cause the drain.

It has nothing to do with rather or not I have interest in fixing. I don't use this phone anymore. In fact it's broken. I also have limited time now. Yet I've still updated every month for 3 years.
You are free to open a PR on git to help fix the issue. You will get all credit.

Also, last I tried the camera a couple of months ago it was working. I'm not sure what broke it.

This is a LineageOS 16 ROM for the Exynos3470 based Samsung Galaxy S5 mini (G800F/G800M/G800Y)
DO NOT USE IT FOR G800H OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9.0 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Not Working
    • HWC (Hardware Composer)
    • Encryption - Trying to encrypt your device will stop suddenly after a few seconds and possibly cause a bootloop.
    • SELinux
    • Video recording doesn't work in all apps or with all camera applications

    How to install
Note You must use the latest version of TWRP
    • Download the latest build of LineageOS 16 or LineageOS 16-microG
    • Reboot into TWRP recovery (Press Volume-Up + Home + Power button)
    • Perform a full wipe (Dalvik Cache, Cache, System and Data (inside Wipe -> Advanced Wipe)
    • Flash ROM

    • FakeStore
    • MozillaNlpBackend
    • NominatimNlpBackend
    • OpenWeatherMapWeatherProvider

    * Latest security patches (July 2019)
    * Few kernel commits related to network (thanks to @rodman01)
