Dirty flashed 20200415 to 20200611, works perfectly allright! :good: Also Simple Camera is quite a good addition IMHO.

Only thing which annoys me a bit is this WiFi disconnect/reconnect-thingy still left. But apart from that the device is perfectly usable as a daily driver. Tanks spookcity138 and mongo0!

Is it normal that totally fresh system is performing slower than my 20 years old HTC did on Froyo?
Also is the bundled camera supposed to have no video recording options at all while recording at stuttering speed?

Kinda, the current version is not optimized at all. Best running version would be an Android 8/8.1 rom.
If you are okay to use a different custom rom, try the POSP Custom Rom which also runs on Android 9 but it's noticeable faster.

Holy..!
Sir, this is probably the best imaginable answer I could even imagine. Thank you sincerely.
Somehow I believed only the "Most Active Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Topics" matter. How foolish of me. :cyclops:

The video recording issue is well known in all custom ROMS for this device after Android 7. Perhaps search this thread. PR's on git are more than welcome if you wanna solve this or any other issue.

Strange,we are all using the same sources,dt wise. No idea why POSP would be noticeably faster. I can certainly understand why A ROM like LOS 14.1 would be however.

Maybe it is LineageOS itself which makes this ROM slow. POSP seems to be based on AOSP mostly. I mean, maybe the problem aren't the device trees but the OS. Pretty inexperienced with ROM maintaining though.

Certainly possibly. I wasn't discounting that. Some ROMs do perform a bit better. Of all the ROMs I've built/tried I've never noticed a "night and day" difference though.
As long as we are taking about the same Android version.

Sorry to be off topic, but will you create a thread for your AOSPExtended 6.6 build, @spookcity138 ? I really like the ROM, the only thing that bugs me is that I can't unlock the lockscreen with fingerprint somehow. Or was it just a small experiment? It is only on your AFH after all.

This was actually the ROM I was using when the mini was my main device. It's really nice. I'm not going to be creating a thread or updating it however, sorry. Unless I somehow find lots of free time. I will only continue to build monthly updates for this.

That's enough for me as I also maintain Evolution-X for the OP7.

ending a call - problem (small one) ;)

Hi there again,
i tried the 20200611 update and i can't see many changes ;)
Simple camera works, but video capturing is bend like at footje and snap, either.
Since the update my phone doesn't regognize my movement to end a call.
Means, the display stays black when i move the phone away from ear or table to
start or stop a call. I can wake the display by pressing the home button, but it was
very nice to activate the display by movement before.
I'm wondering if you had made changes on that or if there's just a setting that changes by update.
some ideas?

Greetings from bavaria

I think it uses the proximity sensor for recognizing whether you have the phone at your ear. Still a strange issue, I can't help. Maybe try getting logs, by a chance it will be fixed. But with spookcity developing for OP7 it will probably take time, if it's ever gonna be fixed.

Ew, you're from Bavaria? ;)

Did you wipe System/Data before installing? Perhaps a dirty flash was your problem.

Simple Cam works fine for me with this version. Tried making a Video, played with VLC. It's ok and the app doesn't freeze like footje or open cam.

Tried your calling-display issue. Proximity sensor is working and is turning on the display when I move the phone away form my ear. I did only a short call to test. Perhaps the sensor is turned off after some time because of the batterie saving settings...

By the way:
I had some Problems with the vibration using Macrodroid. This is working without any problems now.

Probably not, dev is moving on, plus it is very hard to get a camera completely working on a custom ROM
interesting ? although I found a camera APK that works perfectly, the application works well on photos and videos the bad thing is that it does not have many options and the design is not very good, if someone wants the APK I will send them ?

I thought simple camera worked. That's why I added it. Is it not working? I'm confused. Some
seem to say that it does and some say it doesn't.

As far as fixing the camera, it's less an issue of me working on another device and more that I just don't know the solution. It's been looked at by me and others for a long time with no solution, so idk.

I saw that in March update the ability to use fingerprint when screen is off was removed. Did it drain battery or was it unstable? Otherwise you could maybe create a switch in settings for that.

It had to add some extra battery drain I imagine. As far as adding a switch, I mean anything is possible, but I wouldn't hold your breath [emoji3]
I don't particularly like the idea of editing the LOS sources to achieve this.
