It had to add some extra battery drain I imagine. As far as adding a switch, I mean anything is possible, but I wouldn't hold your breath [emoji3]
I don't particularly like the idea of editing the LOS sources to achieve this.
Ok, didn't think about that. Maybe implementing it with sysfs would be easier? Only kernel source would have to be changed for that.

Some days ago I flashed this rom on my S5 Mini and meanwhile everything works fine except the standby mode:
the display keeps activating by itself from time to time for few (1-5) seconds without touching the phone.

I already tried to disable app messages, active display and so on.
How / where can I find the reason for this behaviour and disable it?

Have you checked wether or not the power button is pressed by the phone case?

According to this xda news article, google is going to force using android go on devices lower than 2GB RAM.
Are you going to merge some go properties into this ROM?

On google I found a hint:

I had the preffered network type set to 2G and this caused the display to be activated for few seconds (somtimes half of a second, sometimes 5 seconds).
I tried LTE and immediately the display was dark until I pushed a button.
Now as I set it back to 2G the display starts to pop up again.

So this behaviour is definetely triggered by the 2G selection in the network menu!

How can this be disabled?
I only need 2G...

IMPORTANT NOTE
The days of my S5 mini are numbered. The screen has been shattered for months, but it now no longer will even power on. What does this mean?
Well,it means I will no longer be able to test the builds I release. I don't particularly like this, but it is what it is. I will continue to update this ROM however. It would be appreciated if after flashing someone would post a reply confirming that it works. Thanks!

Edit:
I was able to get my my mini to stay on long enough to test the builds. Not sure how or why, but either way, confirmed working by me. I can't promise I'll be able to test future builds however as my mini is certainly dying.

Changelog
Code:
Synced LOS sources
Latest security patches (August 2020)
Enjoy! :good:

latest TWRP (3.4.0-0) causes errors

It is written in the first post, that you need to use the latest twrp.
I just wanted to give the hint, that this causes errors. I tried the latest 3 micro g builds without sucess.
The 3.3.1-0 version is working fine.

I also can report that the latest build (20200811-microg) is running without issues, BUT iam not a frequent user of this rom, which means that i did not had the time for a stress test.

Since this rom is running so smooth, i will test it as daily driver, so i can say more in the future.

Thank you @spookcity138 for investing quiet a amount of time in this project. Great work! :victory:

Yes, just checked and there is a new build of TWRP for the mini that I was not even aware of. I'm also using 3.3.1-0.
If I remember I'll update the main post. Thanks for reporting!

twrp-3.4.0-0 failed instantly to install lineage-16.0-20200811 with error "failed to create directory /cache/recovery/......."
Straight after wipe.
Luckily twrp includes a clunky file manager to fix this:
I couldn't find a make folder button but /oem was a handy empty directory
copy /oem to /cache/
rename /cache/oem to recovery

Try Install again, worked fine.

Is any camera application (for example Open Camera) working with latest build?
Simple Camera by simplemobiletools works great for me on the latest build. It is already included in the ROM since July-build.
