Hello
I can't succeed to make the camera works. Do I miss something ?
Which app I have to download ? Any additionnal driver ?

For me the included Simple Camera works more reliable than other apps. Only with LED on the app sometimes crashes. If the camera then stays non working, only a reboot brings the camera back.
If only the main camera does not work even after reboots, this can be also a hardware defect.

I only have wifi been deactivated after deep sleep, what can be solved be double reactivating it.
Camera are both working fine for me, including led flash. Using the lineage stock app.

I have difficulty to activate it but since not needed often it is not so relevant

For Video even if unsmoothly com.simplemobiletools.camera 5.3.1 (F-Droid) works, while LOS Camera after starting video recording , when stopping leads to freeze.

I hope 4G connection is stable and battery drain acceptable, since I will give to a family person for simple usage - most of the day connected to recharger.

Seems Screen off by recognition of proximity sensor of head will not be reversed after the head is removed, so after the call. Need to see if this is fixable, if I remember correctly that was already a problem in the past.

When I installed this rom, the battery did not charge or almost.
My father-in-law's patience has reached its limit. I'm going to buy him a Pixel 6a so he can leave with a viable solution for several years.

I will try to get the S5 mini back and see what I can do with it.

After flashing, a replacement battery shows always a bad calibration but charging was always possible on at least 2 devices.

Well... I have bought for him a pixel 6a and he have just told me that the S5 mini camera is working fine now. I have tested it today (photo and video) and that's right. Funny.

But the battery is not during long. I am going to search the way to do a good calibration.

I use the included simple camera ver. 5.3.1 (which is the last version compatible with Android 9/LOS 16). In F-Droid I have disabled updates for this app for this reason
The LOS camera app snap can not save videos on my device and crashes more often in image mode.
With saved pictures on the sd-card, the included gallery app has problems to detect them without reboot, so I use simple gallery for this task.

    LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9.0 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    • HWC (Hardware Composer)
    • Encryption - Trying to encrypt your device will stop suddenly after a few seconds and possibly cause a bootloop.
    • SELinux
    • Video recording doesn't work in all apps or with all camera applications

    How to install
    Note You must use the latest version of TWRP
    • Download the latest build of LineageOS 16 or LineageOS 16-microG
    • Reboot into TWRP recovery (Press Volume-Up + Home + Power button)
    • Perform a full wipe (Dalvik Cache, Cache, System and Data (inside Wipe -> Advanced Wipe)
    • Flash ROM
    • Optionally flash your choice of GApps (Must be for arm and for Android version 9.0)

    Small changelog this month as I didn't have any time to really look into the remaining issues. Also, due to circumstances I was unable to perform a clean install for the first time. So I only dirty flashed it and it seems OK to me.
