LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Working:
Camera (and flashlight)
WiFi
Bluetooth
Telephony (Calls and Data)
Audio (Record and Playback)

I like how clean and simple Lineage is. At some point i will move on to it as my daily driver. Waiting for it to mature for the mi8 se.
Thank you @solidv for making Lineage possible on this device.

Magisk 19.3

just change your device ID to "dipper android 9" (mi8) using magisk module - MagiskHide Props Config

I have installed MagiskHide Props Config and Terminal Emulator, but I can't see any option to change the Device ID

install busybox + terminal emulator

props
1 - edit device fingerprint
f - pick a certified fingerprint

7 - mi 8
2 - android 9
y - yes

restart and done

Thank you for sharing the vital info that a "Format data" must be performed if an original MIUI was installed.
Yours is the only topic that discloses this fact. Without this, all nwely installed ROMs will just be stuck at the boot screen.

Notification tones and ring call sounds very bad. Music ok. Same problem with previously installed Resurrection Remix 7 (GSI) ¿Someone with the same problem?
