LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Installation:
Reboot to recovery (TWRP recovery for Mi 8 SE)
Wipe /system, /data and /cache (Read Important Note 2)
Install LineageOS zip package
Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable)

Important notes:
1 * Required * Firmware version must be based on MIUI P-based builds.
2 * Required * Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.
3 Gapps can only be flashed on clean installs.

I like how clean and simple Lineage is. At some point i will move on to it as my daily driver. Waiting for it to mature for the mi8 se.

After changing the display size to small, the navigation bar becomes so small to use. Is it like that on Lineage or can be fixed?

I have tried to register in https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/ with the Google Service Framework number (it's ok), but the problem persist ¿Any idea about that? Thanks

just change your device ID to "dipper android 9" (mi8) using magisk module - MagiskHide Props Config

No at last it certified and has the same android version
But mi8 is the closest thing to mi8se

Thank you for sharing the vital info that a "Format data" must be performed if an original MIUI was installed.
Yours is the only topic that discloses this fact. Without this, all nwely installed ROMs will just be stuck at the boot screen.
