I really doubt that backup/restore will ever work for Huawei devices. And easiest solution to go back to stock is to flash system.img with fastboot because rom only modifies system partition.

So if you get bootloop/brick after flashing this rom, just flash stock recovery and stock system.img and do a factory reset from stock recovery and your device is going to boot.

Recovery_ramdisk.img and system.img can be extracted from update.app of your current stock build.
Okay. I guess ill just have to download my current stock firmware before trying this one.

Thanks a lot.

Hi I was able to restore my phone by flashing the vendor, kernel and system partitions via de fastboot cmd, not directly with the TWRP (I Think there is an issue with the TWRP provided by the developer with flashing those images) and then I tried using this ROM again and it worked! It's an awesome rom, I haven't had any problems so far, no reboots, force closes etc. I think the UI is a little bit laggy sometimes but I installed L Speed and using the performance profile all those lag problems went away. Great Rom, thanks to the developer for his hard work, even the camera is working perfectly in this rom, not going back to EMUI.

Hi developer, guys.

There are 2 things that are not working for me:

1. When I activate Smart Unlock and the conditions are met for the unlock to happen (A Trusted bluetooth device is near for example) the first time I press the power button to unlock all I get is a blank screen (Just the home screen background). I have to press the power button again to turn off the screen and one more time to turn on the screen. That second time the screen is now unlocked. I have to do this everytime.

2. The Pie recents are not working, when I select Pie recents I always get the Oreo recents.

Is there any way to fix this? Except for this, this is the best rom I've used for this device, awesome work dev.

For the first question, I've no bluetooth device for test now.
For the second, the Pie recents go well. 20190514091017.jpg
If you mean the Pie's gesture navigation, please open "System>Guestures>Swipe up on Home button".20190514091021.jpg

Hi xlagjn, Thanks for your response, It seems I don't have the Swipe up on Home button option on system-> gestures. And the Pie recents don't work for me, is there any way I can debug this?

Thanks for your help!

Have you previously tried any other Pie ROMs and used Quickswitch on them? If so, and you didn't restore quickstep back to defaults before switching, you've got a leftover overlay in /product that you need to clean up.

Install Quickswitch, select the stock launcher as the quickstep provider, reboot. It should clean up after itself.

Hi, I'm using this rom (downloaded from openkirin) on Mate 9, latest vendor Pie.

Overall very happy, but two things bug me:
* battery usage info is not available and battery drains faster than before (30-40% faster)
* can't have compact navbar layout + customize the long-press on the home button

Hi, I tried to install a few times, everything works fine, until I want to install apps from the Google app store. Magisk, saftinet tried everything but keep having problems with eg installing Facebook and a number of google apps that also do not want to update, also the message this build was signed with public keys. and cannot change it either.
The omnirom works great and I don't have this problem. Of course I have the EMUI 9-based builds.
