    Hello,
I tried to build the ROM after some break. I found that the source tree cannot be 'repo sync' due to the following change in LOS16.0. May I know how to escape from this problem? I commented out a line in default.xml. That did not work.

fatal: couldn't find remote ref refs/heads/lineage-16.0
    android_external_chromium-webview:
fatal: couldn't find remote ref refs/heads/lineage-16.0

    Hello,
I tried to build the ROM after some break. I found that the source tree cannot be 'repo sync' due to the following change in LOS16.0. May I know how to escape from this problem? I commented out a line in default.xml. That did not work.

fatal: couldn't find remote ref refs/heads/lineage-16.0
    android_external_chromium-webview:
fatal: couldn't find remote ref refs/heads/lineage-16.0

It has been changed in the LOS project:

    Code:
    https://github.com/LineageOS/android_external_chromium-webview

"Building the Chromium-based WebView in AOSP is no longer supported. WebView can
now be built entirely from the Chromium source code."

    AOSiP still has (in snippets/lineage.xml):
    <project path="external/chromium-webview" name="android_external_chromium-webview" clone-depth="1" remote="los" />

    LOS has now:
    <project path="external/chromium-webview" name="LineageOS/android_external_chromium-webview" groups="pdk" clone-depth="1" revision="master" />

Thus, in AOSiP snippets/lineage.xml it should be changed to:
    <project path="external/chromium-webview" name="android_external_chromium-webview" clone-depth="1" remote="los" revision="master" />

Thank you for the great help. I re-started the project. This time however, the situation became more serious. More change in AOSiP tree? When I did:

    repo init -u git://github.com/AOSiP/platform_manifest.git -b pie

    I got the error:

    remote: Total 3868 (delta 31), reused 42 (delta 3), pack-reused 3798
    fatal: manifest 'default.xml' not available
    fatal: remove-project element specifies non-existent project: platform/okhttp

Edit: I have another project for SuperiorOS (pie). I had the same "chromium-webview" issue. The problem has been successfully solved by adding "master". Thank you again.

Thanks for confirming that the proposed fix works :)

For AOSiP: I get the same, and it looks like another AOSiP problem to me.

I have looked into it, this should work:
    repo init -u git://github.com/jer194/platform_manifest -b pie

A corresponding pull request has been sent to AOSiP.

Works fine. ROM is smooth af too, unlike the stock ROM which would freeze intermittently all the time.
Spoke too soon. Digital Wellbeing gets stuck at times, apps refuse to load frequently or just load and instantly crash including their appinfos, Amazon Shopping keeps failing, Reels in Instagram are not hardware accelerated for some reason so they appear as choppy 10fps videos (forcing hardware acceleration for 2D does not fix this).

Are you using the ARM64 or ARM32 builds? If your device has 2Gb or RAM it is recommended to stick to the 32 bit builds.

FWIW I'm using the 32 bit version on my 2Gb device and it is working flawlessly. Since I installed it last December, my phone rebooted only twice and had no abnormal app crashes.
What are the fundamental differences between the 32bit and 64bit builds?

    This should work (since today):
    repo init -u git://github.com/AOSiP/platform_manifest.git -b pie

Next will be to integrate ASB 210305 (by aoleary).

    Changelog:
    • March, 2021 Security Patch.

    Notes and Tips:
    • Avoid using any custom tweaks or playing with kernel settings. It will only make device more unstable, especially arm64 version.
    • This build passes Device Certification in Play Store without Magisk and shows "Device is Certified."
    • Safetynet can also be tested using Magisk Manager's in-built "Check Safetynet" feature.
    • Some apps like SBI Yono, SBI Lite, etc still doesn't work or detect root. Even Magisk Hide won't help, due to the security implemented into the apps.
    • In future, if this build doesn't pass Safetynet, try using "MagiskHide Props Config" module.

Does anyone know if this works on my NOT plus device? (xt1622)

I've never modded it from 2016 when i bought it and i am trying right now lol, i unlocked the bootloader, installed the twrp recovery and rooted with magisk but i'm looking for a smooth, crashless, selfrebootless and bugless ROM, something very solid and stable. I don't even know if i can run the arm64 one

Same here, except that our two Moto G4 are still with the stock ROM from back in those days. Looking forward to give them a new purpose in the near future.

I installed the 32 bit version of this ROM and it is very stable. It rebooted only twice in 3 months. Make sure you install the special TWRP with EFS backup support and do make an EFS backup. If you decide to go back to stock you might need the EFS backup.
Minor glitches are Moto Camera cannot save photos on external SD Card if it is formatted as external storage. Same app, the double-twist to switch between cameras doesn't work.
I have not used the 64 bit ROM, but it seems that it is less stable. 64 bit ROMS consume more RAM.

Thanks, you installed it on xt1622? Is this ROM pre-rooted or i have to flash something? In the rom i have now the flashlight works only with third party apps, in this one works without problems? What about adobtable storage?

I have a Moto G4 Plus (XT1642), but the ROM can be installed on non-plus versions. I didn't root my phone as I don't need to. ROM is not pre-rooted. You would need Magisk for that.

Flashlight works both with the quicksettings tile and with the chop-chop gesture.

I'm using adoptable storage mainly to be able to save photos from Moto Camera there.

I flashed it and the only bug i found is that in Camera app i can't activate the flash (in selfie camera i can, in video mode too, in back camera it is grayed out)

EDIT: network (4g for example) doens't seems to work (Italy, carrier TIM)
with *#*#4636#*#* ping to google says fail(2) and test client http says Fail: IOException (with wifi it passes, the sim works on another device)
i can dial my carrier but after few seconds it says "no network aviable"
is it possible that this rom has wrong modem/baseband/kernel/something like that? How to fix?
(edit4 now it works)for whoever is in the same situation just download last oreo firmware from here, unzip it, copy fsg and nonhols in your adb directory and perform in bootloader "fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin" "fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn" and then "fastboot reboot"

    Edit2: system->reset settings->wifi/data/bluetooth doesn't seem to reset anything

Edit3: after adoptable storage every time i reboot it notify me that my sd is missing (in storage settings it shows it well, everything is ok)

Edit4: with adoptable storage many widget disappear, seems like apps must be on internal storage to let widget work (for example rocket player)

Edit 5: seems like the battery charge takes more time than before but drains slower, don't understand why. Launcher gesture to scroll up to see all apps seems quite annoying and triggers randomly when i swipe left-right, is there any way to have back the "all apps" button? sometimes gboard takes more time than what i hoped to appear

Edit6: it appears that 60fps videos have some problems, the audio goes well but video seems to be in 0.5x and desync immediately

    device is xt1622

thank you for update and for care about this device. I'm facing am issue. I'm not able to use google assist since I can't configure it. when I hit "match voice" to record "ok google" it crashes. I'm using arm version and after installing pico gapps, I installed a few other google apps from playstore like gmail, drive and photos. I made a clean install. help me, please and thank you in advance.

Edit 1: uninstalled and reinstalled solved the problem.

      Hey,

I've had random reboots when the phone seems to be doing something slightly intensive. Uninstalled Magisk and it's still happening so I believe this ROM is the cause. I just want a working phone again so I want to install the latest official ROM and call it a day. Can anyone help me in doing this?

      Any advice is greatly appreciated.
If you're using ARM64 there's a good chance ARM will be more stable. I recommend giving AOSiP another chance if you haven't been running recent builds. They've been very stable for me.

But Moto's stock Android is no slouch either. The easiest way to install it is with TWRP:

The fastboot method is best if you want to restore stock recovery and re-lock the bootloader:

Heads up about build OPJ28.111-22-1 versus OPJ28.111-22 if you intend to root with Magisk: Last time I used '22-1' it wouldn't pass SafetyNet check without help from an extra module.

      • Do not flash LoonyKernel. Rom already ships with LK along with LK tweaks. If there's a kernel update, I'll separately post kernel update zips for my AOSiP builds.
      • Recommended TWRP: Download [Thanks to Lyuu]
      • Recommended OpenGapps Package are Pico and Nano. Users may go for Micro if they want pixel launcher. Any other higher packages is not recommended and may unnecessarily use more memory.
      • Spectrum support is inbuilt so you just have to install spectrum app from play store to switch b/w different modes depending on the task/activity you are doing.

      What's not working
      • SELinux (Disabled for now)
      • FM radio does not work
      • Video recording (Use open camera or asus camera)
      • In-built camera of some social media apps does not work (e.g. whatsapp)
      • Flashlight QS toggle (chop gesture works)
      • If any other you encounter please report with proper logs

      Changes for AOSiP-9.0_r34: AOSiP-9.0-Pizza-athene-20190310.zip
      • March security updates merged
      • Sync with latest AOSiP source changes (check gerrit)
      • Update brightness overlays. Minimum brightness should be fine now.
      • Improved spectrum gaming and battery mode
      • Added more network modes (3g, lte, gsm etc.)
      • Add toggle to disable sim
      • Integrate custom FP sensor gestures to LineageActions (Settings->System->MotoActions). No need to flash fp-patch now.
      • Cleanup and update lock screen charging info. Few language strings have been updated accordingly.
      • Kernel updated to release 13:
        • Switch to Lineage's version of sdFAT and apply some v3.10 upstream patches which were left as the driver was never part of mainline.
        • Revised and nuked lot of unwanted kernel patches.
        • Cleanup and fixed some minor moto derps.
REMINDER: Flash recommended opengapps package, read post#2 for more details.
