Probably not, at most another security patch update if samsung releases one.
Bug fixes such as radio and 2nd sim data will only be fixed if someone finds a fix in the future, but i wouldn't get my hopes high.
Even then, samsung have dropped the a series 2017 from official support so it's seriously unlikely that there will be another patch
Then I will wait for these fixes. This is the best custom firmware for this device. I don't want another firmware.)))
Really don't keep your hopes high for 2nd SIM data and fm radio since these are broken because they aren't supported in Korean firmware, you'll have to use another rom for those

Hello. Tell me or give a link for instructions on moving (porting, installing) some system applications from android 10 to android 9. In the vastness of the Internet, I probably looked badly, did not find instructions. I want to install the Package Installer from android 10 to android 9.

Hi @Option58 and all,
this port is really well done and I can confirm it is the most stable rom over the others posted here (including riseq).

My only concern (for the moment :) ) is about the Permissive SE Policy.
Is there an easy way to set SE Policy to Enforced, maybe using TWRP to avoid the root?

Of course I am asking here before trying anything to understand if the SE Policy on this rom have some issue/limitation that will lead to boot loop whenever set to enforced.

Thanks!

No you can't, if you really must have enforcing then just use lineage or another aosp rom since as far as I know none of the oneui ROMs for our devices have enforcing

First of all, why the package manager? Has this even changed? Secondly, this probably isn't possible as it's a system component and the android 10 version is likely designed to only work with 10 but I'm no expert on porting

Yes, as far as I see there is no enforcing on oneui roms, but... is there a reason for that?

I mean, I expect the official rom to have enforcing, so I guess it has been forced to permissive state by the rom developer for some reason, and whenever it is not needed for the port itself to work properly, I guess it could be reverted back to enforced, isn't it?

So I would expect a clarification from @Option58 on an eventual procedure to revert enforcing back somehow, whenever possible of course.

Hello and thanks to the makers of this good Korean ROM. Friends, after using this ROM for some time, I saw that when I use medium power storage, the battery charge is used a lot and it is better that this feature is turned off. Thank you.

Does this rom supports the work profile?
It's 2 days now I am trying to setup the work profile, but it fails returning that I am using a custom os, is there a way to mask/bypass this?

That's not how it works, for the rom to work properly it must be permissive

    [ROM][9][OneUI] Korea's rom for A5|7 2017

    As you probably know by now a Korean variant of A7 2017 has recently received firmware update to android 9 and OneUI. I made it working on my international variant and cleaned it up, so I'm sharing with the community.

    Code:
    /*
    * Your warranty is now void.
    *
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
    */

    However, if you still feel like you are missing features it is still recommended to flash an addons zip. So I linked the post above to the OP.

    FAQ
    Is it possible to flash stock oreo firmware after using this rom?
    Yes, of course. Flashing this rom doesn't update your bootloader.

    Some apps (eg. banking, Netflix) refuse to work.
    Permissive kernel which is shipped in the latest build doesn't pass SafetyNet. Luckily, there are ways to bypass this such as flashing Magisk.

    I have A5 2017, but battery capacity shows 3600mAh.
    You can ignore this. That's only in about phone. The kernel knows your true battery capacity.

    How to add csc codes
    Korean base doesn't support multi-csc. But we can still unlock region-related features by using special codes. I won't post them here, you should search around xda for the specific one that you need.

    For example here I will be adding network speed indicator in the status bar. The code for this is:
    Code:
    <CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed>TRUE</CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed>
    But you can add something else, too.

    You'll need a PC. Steps to take are:
    1. Download THIS zip to your PC.
    2. Extract the zip.
    3. Open system/csc/others.xml with Notepad.

      It looks like this:
      Code:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
      <SamsungMobileFeature>
        <FeatureSet>
          <CscFeature_Setting_ConfigOpMenuStructure>GLOBAL</CscFeature_Setting_ConfigOpMenuStructure>
        </FeatureSet>
      </SamsungMobileFeature>
      Add your code like below:

      Code:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
      <SamsungMobileFeature>
        <FeatureSet>
          <CscFeature_Setting_ConfigOpMenuStructure>GLOBAL</CscFeature_Setting_ConfigOpMenuStructure>
          [COLOR="Red"]<CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed>TRUE</CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed>[/COLOR]
        </FeatureSet>
      </SamsungMobileFeature>
      Code:
    4. Repack the zip.
    5. Copy to your phone and flash.

    Now when you go to settings -> status bar you should see the network speed indicator toggle appear. Or any other change that you added.

    New build up!

    • 04032021
      • Rebased on A720SKSU5CTL2
      • Updated the kernel drop from A720SKSU5CTL2
      • Slight a5y17lte-only firmware changes
    This build comes with a several week delay, but for a good reason. The kernel drop I was waiting for, as said in the post above, is finally here. Samsung did some smaller driver and security changes to it, so although it's minor it's nice to have the latest thing. Especially since this could be the last one.

    In case you haven't heard already, Samsung will no longer push security patches for it's 2017 A Series. You can read more about that in this news post. Unfortunately, this leaves this update as the last A720S firmware we can rebase on. But, of course, we see new roms (which take newer devices as a base) start appearing. And I hope that they can become more and more stable over time. Edit: I got pointed out that because A720S was released a bit later, in july 2017, we might or might not get one another security update.

    Lastly, need to thank my friend @Jmackley for covering me with testing and bandwidth issues. 😂

    Updated the KoreanAddons zip.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZMy4iZ2QVa3WpPG_3ujAi9THbcGNfMPV/view?usp=drivesdk

    Flash at your own risk!

    This should be flashed after flashing the Rom (Preferably after clean rom install).

    What does this do?

    Adds your country's CSC and could add some features,mods of your choice. By adding the CSC of your country it may enable voLTE and other carrier specific features, voWiFi doesn't work as the Korean Pie Rom does not include voWiFi (WiFi Calling) related stuff.

    UPDATE: The previous zip had an issue with the battery cosmetic fix, fixed that. Please redownload.

    UPDATE 2: Fixed again, works with the latest rom version.
