Hi
Trying to install with TWRP.
I get error-
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7

The device is Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi only (flo). What maybe wrong?
Do I need any specific kernel?

Hi,

When I try to install TWRP 3.3.1-0 with 'fastboot flash recover twrp-3.3.1-0-flow.img' I get error-

fastboot: core/libsparse/sparse.cpp:131: int write_all_blocks(struct sparse_file *, struct output_file *): Assertion `pad >= 0' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

Tried to download img again but same error.

The latest TWRP is 3.3.1-0 (https://dl.twrp.me/flo/). Here is a re-partitioning link from @followmsi and all you need to do is download and flash the "sysrepart" before you flash the ROM (https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=78703434&postcount=1971).

First, I assume you have downloaded the proper TWRP for your Nexus 7 flo device. I do not use Fastboot to flash and instead, I just flash through TWRP that is installed on my flo. I download the file, either .zip or .img to my flo, then boot to recovery (TWRP) and choose "Install" from the menu. If you are going to install a .img file, select "Install Image" from the bottom right corner of the page and then navigate to where your .img file is downloaded. Click on the proper file and the Install .Img page should open. Swipe to flash the file and you should be good-to-go. Another option is to download the TWRP app and install it on your flo. Then use the app to select the proper TWRP file and use the app to flash it to your device.

Hey everybody sorry i haven't been posting builds lately. I have deciced to stop making roms for a couple months for all my devices because it feels like too much work for me at the moment and i am trying to deal with my personal mental health issues that i am currently working on. This isn't a goodbye i will eventually start developing and making roms again i just don't know when i will have the motivation to come back. But when i come back from taking my break i will try to update most of my roms for you all:)

Also i deeply apologize to the people that requested any sort of help and that have emailed or private messaged me here on xda. I have seen your messages and i will respond to you all and try to help eventually but right now that's not my priority. I just got too much stuff going on with my life but it's nothing against any of you. I love to help people but my sanity and mental health is more important.

I hope you all can understand:)

Please take car of #1 first!! ROMs can wait... I'm still on the Jan build because I use mine for a remote control for my TV/lights lol... it runs very well and I think I'm only going to flash again once Android 10 comes to this device...

@JT1510365. I noticed that updates seemed delayed and became concerned. Take care of yourself; the ROMS can wait.

Does this ROM support multi-user? I tried modifying the build.prop as mentioned in the below thread but it does not seem to work...

Looking for a little help with Pokemon

I have 2 Nexus 7. One is stock with the latest images I'm Google. That one can run Pokemon but I had to sideload it from apk mirror. The other one I decided to try some pie ROMs but every time I try to run Pokemon I get "this device, OS, or software is not compatible with Pokemon go."

I have not rooted the taplet at all. I have tried two other pie roms and they do the same thing. Is there something in the roms that make Pokemon think it's rooted and doesn't allow it to run?

The stock images are fine but with pie the tablet runs much faster and makes gameplay easier.

The irony here is that the fix is to root your device with Magisk and then hide root from Pogo and Google.Play Services.
Only use version 19.2 of Magisk as newer versions have issues that Pogo will occasionally detect.
That will get you up and running.

A better option, IMHO, is to run the unofficial LOS 14.1 which is now being updated by @wileyc

No root requirement for Pogo, and more available memory which is important on an Android device with only 2gig of memory.

I did try with the newest version but I didn't think of using an old version. After that didn't work my thought was if I didn't root it then it should work, that's why I posted. Didn't know if something was added to the ROM that Pokemon thought was root.Thank you for your help. I will give it a try.

Ohhhh and one more thing.
You'll likely need to clear/delete the app cache for Pogo if you've already been detected, (and if you want to persist with Pixel Experience + Magisk).
My N7 is a dedicated Pogo device and as a fairly dedicated player, have found that Lineage 14.1 is the best ROM for the purpose.
Good luck.

PixelExperience Plus for ASUS Nexus 7 2013 [Flo/Deb]

    What is this?

Pixel Experience is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, bootanimation)

Our mission is to offer the maximum possible stability and security, along with essential features for the proper functioning of the device

    Based on Android 9.0 PIE

DON'T FLASH GAPPS, ALREADY INCLUDED IN ROM!

    Installation:

    1. Download the ROM and Magisk from the links below.
    2. Wipe everything except internal storage.
    3. Reboot recovery you will have no OS installed but that's ok i promise your device will boot back into recovery.
    4. Flash the ROM and DO NOT flash GApps as it is already included!
    5. Flash Latest Magisk to get root access.
    6. Reboot and Enjoy!

    Known issues:

    - You will be required to repartition your device to at least 1.3gb. If you have anything higher or exact than 1.3gb than your fine.
    - Navigation bar glitches sometimes.
    - Deep Sleep does not work when NFC is enabled so i recommend you disable it when your not using it to get your tablet to go in deep sleep.
    - When you boot up the ROM for the first time you may notice that the boot animation will freeze and then your device reboots back to the google logo. This is not a device side issue but a ROM side issue but let the tablet reboot a couple times if necessary & your tablet will eventually boot to the setup wizard and into the ROM. This is normal.
    - Use Latest Official TWRP recovery below for Flo which is version 3.3.1.0 and you won't have the install supersu thing when you reboot recovery.
    - You tell us!

Edit: Forget what I said I decided to continue builds and I changed my mind:)

I know life outside xda and challenges make this hard to define.... But any gut feeling of when this may be? Months, weeks or "just sit back it and be patient will come when its ready" :p

I am downloading the pixel experience pie ROM sources right now and after that I will run a build for both flo and deb. Will take 5 to 6 hours to make the build though so I hope you can be patient. Making these ROMs require a lot of time unfortunately. Will update you all soon when the build is available.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but with NFC disabled, does that mean wireless charging won't work? The device is new to me so I don't know if the charging is broken or if it's the NFC.

Wireless charging should work with NFC turned off
