LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

What's working :
  • Almost everything

Known issues :
  • You tell me
Be sure to include a log : check how to

  • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
  • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Instructions :
  • Download the latest build and GApps
  • Reboot to recovery
  • Flash the latest build and GApps
  • Reboot

Thank you for the rom Coldhans ! :)

Just a question - I am currently running the LineageOS 15.1 Unofficial 8.1 rom on my Honor 5X.
Can I flash this LineageOS 16.0 Unofficial Pie BETA over my current rom (i.e. dirty flash) ?
Or do i need to do a full wipe of my phone first (i.e. clean install) ?

Thank you

I dirty flashed the ROM. Everything is normal, including my magisk modules. I used it for 5 hours straight. No major bugs. Camera is okay (by okay I mean it works as stated) and fingerprint has been registered every single time I tried. And the infamous ArrowOS Pie 'unresponsive phone with only reboot as way out' glitch hasn't occured yet. So it's great! The only problem that I have faced (and it's not a major one) is with status bar items. For example, network speed meter and Bluetooth icon isn't being shown (haven't tested all icons, there might be others that do not appear). Also, when I toggle any status bar icon options (I mean choosing which ones to be shown), apparently SIM1 AND SIM2 network icons (along with their connectivity sign) gets swapped permanently each time I toggle them. Mobile internet and WiFi is working too. Thanks for your work.

BT icon on Pie doesn't appear even it's on, it's google fault and not the release. you will see BT icon only if you use BT headphone or connect to your car.

I checked it with my bluetooth headset and bluetooth speaker and what you said is right. This was definitely my lack of knowledge. I should have checked it with them. Thanks for the information!
The internet speed meter problem can be solved with any third party app. And the SIM network icon problem can be solved with turning any odd number of status bar items off. In my case I just turned off ethernet. The ROM's pretty sweet.

Fingerprint won't work, regardless of how many times I restart. I'm now considering installing 15.1 and updating it to 16, just like I had to do with Arrow to get it working. Otherwise, great ROM.

Amazing to see Pie on this device :p Great job.

Made a (very) dirty flash from 14.1 et everything was ok just flashed again Gapps for Pie and Magisk 18.
I tried a clean install after internal full wipe but issues with fingerprints and camera which didn't load.

I will try again to take logs.

Thanks for the rom :good:

Nice rom :)

Thank you Coldhans.

Found four bugs:

1) Network traffic monitor does not show up in the status bar even when it has been turned on in the settings.

2) When using the quick settings tiles (eg. wifi on/off, location on/off, Sounds) tapping on the tile does not seem to be working sometimes
(i.e. tapping on a tile does not activate or deactivate the corresponding setting) and the times it does work, it responds very slowly / delayed

3) Unable to access and switch on or off the granular settings for each app under the PRIVACY GUARD feature (i.e. PRIVACY GUARD not working)

4) Phone randomly disconnects from wifi if the phone is in standby / not being used

Happened to me a couple of times, rebooting solves the issue.

Digital Wellbeing

Okay so I found some issues with digital wellbeing. My facebook lite had passed its limit but was not going locked. I quit the app and launched it, it launched normally. So I went to the settings and tried to set the app timer again. It said "can't set app timer" but then the app was blocked. Then I tried to change other app timers and same problem were occurring. However, I could delete app timers. Force stopping didn't do a thing. Have a look at this logcat.
After grabbing the logcat I cleared digital wellbeing data and then again I was able to set app timers normally.
*Wind down was working as it should. Only tapping that NightLight option crashes the app, possibly because it conflicts with LiveDisplay.
EDIT: After clearing data and setting new app timers, it successfully blocked all apps of which the timer ran out. Also, it warned about time limit and blocked messenger as it should. I don't know if the issue will repeat or not but for now I won't be modifying any app timers.
EDIT 2: While I was writing the first edit, device went unresponsive with a faint light on screen(similar to the ArrowOS pie bug). I could not grab logs but the device was okay after a hard reboot, as well as the app timers.

QS tiles and Brightness

I tried to grab a logcat for unresponsive QS tiles and auto brightness switch along with the brightness slider not changing brightness.
Also I would like to add that double tap to wake screen does not work for me most of the times. It works sometimes though.

work well but

lineage os 16 works well, it's very snappy and fast for me.

I found some problems:
- the camera is slow to start
- SELinux or trust is disable and privacy guard not work
- fingerprint not work

Please provide the display option to smaller too
Go to Settings>System>Advanced>Developer options(if you don't find it enable it from About Phone, tapping build number for a number of times)>Smallest width and set the value to 449
You can also directly search for Smallest width from settings if you have developer settings enabled/

Okay so I was playing music and I locked the phone and tried turning the display on to change music and the phone went unresponsive. Power button only lit the display a bit. However I could change music through headphone buttons. I had to hard reboot my way out and these settings changed:
*Screen lock sounds got ON
*Clock became 12 hour format (Automatic 24h format setting)
*Screen timeout reset to 30s
*Auto rotation got disabled
*Battery percentage got hidden
Also Gboard, Android Messages (Google one) and Google phone had their data cleared.
Sorry, couldn't grab logcat this time. The problem may be related to the ArrowOS screen lock bug.
EDIT: The problem happened again and here is the logcat.

1. Camera problems
2. problems with the fingerprint reader
3. When the charger is connected, the phone starts to play a sound over and over again
otherwise everything is still working

will there be any updates?
