Install instructions

I came from PixelExperience and installed Carbon without flashing the newest factory image first. Is that essential?
When the mobile booted into Carbon, I was surprised that all my data were still there. Sure, I had not erased the system nor done a factory reset.
Now everything runs smooth with two exceptions:
1) The mobile shuts down though the battery capacity is said to be 60 % or so. But in fact the battery is empty.
2) Google playstore keeps starting by itself.
I read that both symptoms might result from a bad software installation. Whereas (1) might be a hardware problem of course.
So, have I done something totally wrong while flashing Carbon? Should I consider flashing again after a factory reset maybe?

It's always recommended to do a clean flash (wipe data) when switching ROMs, or when a ROM update has core changes, it's the best way to avoid such issues

Well I had done the "Wipe Data, Dalvik/ART Cache, and cache" like in the primary installation instructions.
Isn't that strange? Once more the question: which are the steps for a safe fresh install of Carbon?

After i had the sudden shutdowns often, i switched to lineageos 15.1 with microG and i am very content. 3 Days without shutdowns now. This is great. Nevertheless, i did like ur Rom, but i got rid of my problems due to change to lineageos. Greets, Ray

Excelente trabajo hasta el momento sin problemas en ocasiones se pega el táctil en el navegador pero puff es una bobada desde COLOMBIA 2020.

Been using May release of this ROM. Great battery so far... Since N6P already become my 2nd phone. Most of the time battery last for a week.

I just switched to CarbonROM from Lineage 17.1 - had too many issues with Lineage (sometimes calls were missed because the phone wasn't even showing incoming calls, camera crashed every other time a picture is taken, especially HDR, loosing GPS connection when navigating now and then, etc).

Having the same issues with Google Camera on Carbon ROM now (the app starts and immediately stops) - makes me think this problem is not ROM-specific.

Please please post if you had a similar problem and found a way to fix it.

In case someone wonders, using older Google Camera app version solved the problem.
